Sire: Hotazel ARI#
1035117 Medium Brown The mark of a great herdsire is the success of his offspring. In only three short years, Hotazel offspring have taken over 90 awards. They have won 20+ Color or Reserve Championships, 30+ Firsts, 35+ Seconds, 10 Thirds, 6 Fourths and 2 Fifths. For those who say you can't compete in second fleece - a few of those Banners were with previously shorn alpacas! His offspring have won a banner at every show we have attended and in every color group except gray. His whites have even taken champion over full accoyo whites - now that's just plain fun!
Hotazel was specifically chosen to compliment Jet Stream and the rest of our breeding program. How rare it is to find a dark suri with lock structure superior to most lights! In addition to that, he is well balanced, conformationally correct, and exhibits outstanding luster. He also has well above average density, (skin biopsy in the top 10%- ask for results). In fact, we chose him specifically for his luster and density. Hotazel tends to pass a very distinctive head style to most of his offspring, in addition to improving the fleece characteristics of the dams.
To celebrate the success of his offspring, we have reduced his stud fee by $500 for any female sent home with us from Nationals or sent before the end of June. (regular fee - $3,000) Since we are looking to help create a Gray Color Champion, we are offering an extra discount for your second place - Champion gray girls. Contact us for details!
Skin Biopsy Stats:
51 follicles/sq mm
S/P Ratio: 10.4 to 1
Note: At the time that Hotazel was Biopsied, other stats like % Medullation, level of glands and the spread between the secondaries and primaries were not being measured.
Congratulations to Jackie Mathiason and Brad Dean of Alpaca Road on the purchase of this incredible impact herd sire! Hotazel has now moved to their beautiful farm in Maryland where he is available for outside breedings. We have retained a few sons who are standing stud here in St. Louis, M
Dam: Victoria Secret SSRMT ARI#
834496 Medium Fawn There's not a lot to say about this girl as her show career said it all- glossy luster, slick handle, consistent locks on a correct frame. Since them, she has become a great dam and producer. It's only because we have several offspring of her bloodline that we are willing to part with her.
Because I have gone back to school we have only bred a handful of our females. Victoria Secret is open but sells with a free re-breeding if used before she leaves our farm. I would suggest Puck or Motley Hue. Motley is the sire of the 2010 Futurity Reserve Champion Gray Female. This would be a cria to look forward to!
Description
Hustler was an eagerly awaited offspring of one of Dos Donas's top Champion dams and DD Hotazel. He has turned out to be stretchy like his dam and large boned and mellow like his sire. He also has a cool slick handle, uniform locks, high luster and a great head- all on a correct frame. Hustler exhibits all the traits one looks for in a future herdsire! Beautiful confirmation, coverage, and suri style. Hustler has proven he is passing his fiber stats onto his offspring.
Hustler's density is 70 follicles /sq. mm, with a S/P of 7.9. His secondary fibers average 16.8 micron, primaries at 22.6 micron with a spread of 5.8 micron! Hustler's AFD is 17.45 and top 10% EPDs.
**A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously.
• All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria.
• Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis.
• All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm.
• Bred females receive a minimum of 1 ultrasounds performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician.
We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
