El Corazon Daughter
Skyline's Peruvian Natalia
Huacaya, Female, Unproven | Bay Black
ARI# 32663457, D.O.B. 4/5/2013, Full Peruvian
Sire: Renosant's Peruvian El Corazon ARI#
30389922 Light Fawn What do you say about spun gold? 12 Color Championships in both fleece and halter? Genetics of legends? Outstanding phenotype? It's all EL CORAZON. His name means "heart", and he truly represents the heart of our breeding program at Poplar Hill.
When talking alpacas it has to be all about the fleece, take a look at the fiber shot on this macho - it just doesn't get any more impressive than this. Bar none, RENOSANT has stamped his sons and daughters with the most expressive and outstanding fleeces we have ever seen. With EL CORAZON becoming one of our top herdsires he has actually shown better in the ring than his sire. As always, thank you RENOSANT for this outstanding son.
EL CORAZON'S mom Leeza is a full Peruvian import that showed up here on consignment and after the birth of her first cria with us, never left. We realized early on that this gal was holding lots of secrets in her genetic past that we just had to find out more of her potential.
Dam: Poplar Hill's Peruvian Nutmeg ARI#
31720496 Bay Black Poplar Hill’s Peruvian Nutmeg is a Full Peruvian Bay Black Dam that has a dense soft handled fleece that still shows character at her 4th shearing. She is the daughter of AG Peruvian Alejandro, a True Black 2X Reserve Champion and 6X – Blue Ribbon winner that pushes deep color into his offspring. Her Dam, FCA Peruvian Maravilla is a Med. Silver Grey female out of HA Shades of Gray. Maravilla consistently has given Poplar Hill’s Alpacas either Black or Grey award winning cria, and Nutmeg was no exception.
Nutmeg was bred to Poplar Hill's premier herdsire Renosant’s Peruvian El Corazon, a beautiful Light Fawn male, for her maiden breeding. We were thrilled with the result, a Bay Black female.
For Nutmeg’s 2014 cria we decided to try and bring out the grey in her background by pairing her with North Star, our Silver Grey McGwire son. We think this will also produce a fabulous cria as North Star has a beautiful long stapled fleece that exhibits very nice character and a soft handle.
It is hard to let Nutmeg go as she isn’t related to our males and we love her genetics, but our need to downsize creates a great opportunity for you!
Description
Skyline’s Natalia is one of our recently weaned crias. She is a gorgeous Full Peruvian Bay Black with Grey genetics in her lineage. Natalia’s sire is Renosant’s Peruvian El Corazon a 12X Light CCH/RCH whose fleece his owners call “Spun Gold!” Her Dam is Poplar Hill’s Peruvian Nutmeg, one of our Bay Black foundation females. We were so pleased when Natalia was born as we were hoping for a dark colored cria and that is exactly what we got! Natalia got her Mom’s color, a deep Bay Black with some Grey highlights, and her Dad’s fleece characteristics, very dense and crimpy. We would love to keep Natalia in our breeding program as she is not related to our males, but hard decisions must be made when your focusing on downsizing your herd. Purchase her now and you can show her in the spring! If she is like her mom, she will be a great foundation female for you when she matures.
