His kids still win big in the ring...2016 Gold Country Gathering KC son won RCC behind our own RR Dizzy Gillespie in Grey Male and KC daughter won Color Championship, grey female AND KC son won Black Color Championship (RR Lancelot)
KC took his first championship at 8 months of age. Since then, his fleece has maintained its length and fineness and he remains one of the best grey males in the country.
If you have a look at his Watt follicle testing results, the reasons will be obvious. The mix of black and white fibers in his grey is homogeneous in micron. He is the only alpaca, male or female, that carries the best characteristics of the Snowmass Peruvian Casanova and Guns n Roses lines. His production has not disappointed with multiple championships among his offspring.
His follicle density testing by Ian Watt is outstanding at his sampling at 2 years of age:

She is one of 3 excellent females that we acquired who are out of Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, a Bueno son, in order to insinuate those gentics into our grey breeding program. Her mom is out of Roger Haldane's breeding program in Australia.
Stars is "drop dead gorgeous", with an outstanding head, excellent balance and proportions and attitude to rival any celebrity diva's. Even as a mature hembra, she is athletic and energetic, proud and erect and loves to spend time with the younger girls.
Her show record, though brief is anything but shabby.
Silver Star has done a remarkable job of maintaining her fine fleece over the years. That is one of our highest priorities in our breeding decisions.
Her son, Snowmass Enlightenment was the highest selling huacaya at the 2009 Futurity auction.Her cria indeed "have been extraordinary".
Description
Donnatello has been a treasure in our program. He is a Kit Carson son out of the revered and now deceased Snowmass Silver Star who gave us Snowmass Star Matrix, mom to RR Touchstone, the national brown fleece champ in 2015.
She is also mom to Snowmass Enlightenment, who is well recognized in grey breeding circles.
Donnatello carries the strong conformation of both his parents and we fully suspect that he will deliver the goods on sustained fineness which was seen in both his parents.
Sire, Kit Carson has a histogram of 22.5/ 4.0/ 17.6 and a comfort factor of 96.1% at age 6.
Dam, Silver Star was still 23 micron at age 10!
He has a very superior handle and uniformity to his fleece which would be commendable in any color, but is particularly notable for grey.
We are focused on breeding for solid greys and as a result are putting both he and his ouitstanding sire up for sale. The grey genes that they carry have been deeply entwined in our herd and the backbone of our breeding program in a line that started with grandsire Aussie Gun's n Roses, RR Guns Kit Carson and now Donnatello.
We expect that he will have a commendable breeding career ahead of him, but don't have enough work for him to fully realize his potential.
If you're breeding for grey he's your man...and we have drastically reduced his price.
