Precocious daughter!
CCNF Bellona
Huacaya, Female, Unproven | White
ARI# 32314069, D.O.B. 9/16/2011,
Sire: MFI Peruvian Precocious ARI#
30934542 White The son of Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah (2008 AND 2009 Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year) and a multi Champion dam, NWA, LTD Precious (a 4Peruvian Pacachuti daughter), Precocious brings two very important things with him to the table as far as we are concerned here at Cas-Cad-Nac. First and foremost is his quality. His fleece represents everything we love in a truly great alpaca: fineness, brightness, amazing density, uniformity throughout, and an outrageous staple length. Secondly is the simple fact that with the exception of his paternal sister, Johanna, he was completely unrelated to the rest of our production herd at the time he joined our breeding program. Can you say puzzle piece?!
Having worked with Magical Farms off and on over the past years we had always been on the lookout to do something together so when this opportunity presented itself (and frankly after Precocious spanked us in the show ring yet again) we jumped at it. Precocious is currently standing at stud in Ohio but returns here to CCNF in early July of each year for a 6 month holiday.
The first crop of Precocious kids born here throughout 2010 were in a word: dynamic. It is not by chance that two of them, brothers Tenacious and Invictus, joined their sire at the CCNF Stud Barn as working Herdsires in their own right in 2012. Nor that with only seven of his progeny from CCNF representing him, that Precocious was awarded Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year at the 2012 Futurity!
Dam: CCNF Bellarina ARI#
1155730 Light Fawn After 16 years of breeding alpacas, we have gotten to the point now in our program where we can release some pretty special genetics while still maintaining the genetic depth we need to continue moving forward. Bellarina is the epitome of this. An AOBA National Champion daughter of SuperNova and the famous Accoyo female, PPPeruvian Pachelbel, she represents some of the most powerful genetic lines we have ever had here and will continue to work with into the future.
Having given birth to a healthy little female last year, Prima, whom we are retaining for now, Bellarina unfortunately slipped her 30 day pregnancy last December and as such was held open until now. The good news though, is that she is amongst the first females we are offering bred and confirmed pregnant by our young Champion and Judges' Choice winner, CCNF Elixir! Whether you are adding to an existing herd or starting a new one, Bellarina offers amazing quality, genetic depth, and potential!
As some of you may have noticed, we also have Bellarina's yearling daughter, CCNF Bellona (who is likewise being bred to Elixir but is not yet confirmed), for sale. We have decided to part with either one or the other, but not both. The simple fact is that you can't make SuperNova/Pachebel crosses any more...
Service Sire: CCNF Elixir ARI#
32314304 Beige Due Date: 7/9/2014 Meet the new crown prince of CCNF. Show record aside, Elixir is probably the best male alpaca our breeding program has produced in 16 years. Good thing too, as he and his paternal siblings have some mighty big shoes that we're going to be asking them to fill in the coming years. The son of three time Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Elite Legend, and our multi-Champion Archangel daughter, CCNF Ascension, Elixir when conceived as a concept on paper was supposed to be good. We just had no idea that the stars were going to align quite as well as they did. The fleece fineness and phenotype of his maternal line combined with the other-worldy density and uniformity he got from his sire are virtually unmatched here.
He is a special, special alpaca, one that has our mouths watering when we consider the breeding pairings for the years ahead. The fact that we feel he can breed both lights and darks (Elixir is a classic dorsal beige) makes some of those upcoming breeding decisions just that much more intriguing.
We are thrilled to announce that as of late July Elixir had settled his first females, with the pregnancies being confirmed via sonogram! Elixir, who will be standing at stud here at CCNF until October 1st before moving back to our partners' farm in Maryland for the fall season, will be offered for outside stud service on a limited basis in 2013 at a cost of $5000/breeding. It is no exaggeration to say that we have been anticipating the coming breeding season for this guy since he was was all of about 3 months old. Now Elixir's time is here and the future looks very exciting!
We are proud to co own Elixir with the Padgett family of A Paca Fun Farm in Dickerson, MD. Please inquire either with us here at CCNF (
[email protected] or 802-263-5740) or the Padgetts (
[email protected] or 301-349-4111) if you are interested in purchasing a breeding to this stellar young Champion Herdsire!
Description
A rare female offering from the famous Pachelbel line, Bellona’s mother, Bellarina, was a AOBA National halter champion and also carries in her not just the genetics of the famous granddam (she and her sister, Bellafina, are the two Pachelbel daughters we still have working here) but also just as importantly those of her sire, SuperNova. Bellona’s sire, MFI Peruvian Precocious, likewise should need little introduction. Precocious has won numerous accolades over the years but perhaps of greatest note was that a small band of his kids managed to secure the 2012 Futurity Reserve Herdsire of the Year in Nebraska earlier this year. As to the specimen in question: Bellona possesses gobs of fine fleece as one might expect of an animal of her pedigree.
Bellona is now confirmed pregnant via ultrasound and due with a CCNF Elixir cria in early July of next year! Elixir is quite simply world class. The possibility of what Bellona combined with the density, fineness and uniformity of Elixir (16 AFD, 2.9 SD 18.3 CoV in 2013 just shy of the age of 2) could make is rather mouth-watering.
We value Bellona's maternal line like few others. Though we have also listed Bellona's AOBA Champion dam, Bellarina (not coincidentally also bred to Elixir for her own 2014 cria), for sale, we will only part with one or the other, not both.
