She'll steal your heart
Stargazer's Maggie May
Huacaya, Female, Proven | Light Fawn
ARI# 32304930, D.O.B. 6/18/2012, Full Peruvian
Sire: 6P Royal Gold Imp98 ARI#
808058 Medium Fawn Royal Gold passed in 2013 at about 17 yo. He was one of the nations finest imports. It was quite an eye opener in the 1990's when his first cria started testing at 14 and 15 micron. Many also sustained that fineness until well into adult years. He also produced many black and grey offspring even when bred to lighter colors. Antares is a solid black herdsire with a great disposition that we are still using today. He is among the top 10 Black herdsires in the EPD program for improving both fineness and fleece weight.
Consistent, Persistence, Fineness.... A product of the Antacalla/Allianza breeding program, Royal Gold was originally held as the importer's personal herdsire selection in the last Peruvian importation (1998). His reproducibility is undeniable! He has proven to improve density, fineness and crimp.
Royal Gold has sired numerous Champion, blue ribbon offspring that will always get comments from the judge remarking about their fineness and presence. He was capable of producing all colors, including black and grey.
One of his greatest gifts to his offspring was passing on his strong presence and attitude which is noticeable from birth.
Stargazer's Antares (black) and Royal Rumble are taking over his duties with a new defined purpose. We can now offer his genetics in a greater depth of color and fineness. Rumble has been 15 micron for two years in a row.
Dam: Stargazer's Mimas ARI#
31750011 White Mima's provides the best of both worlds and can be bred for fineness and the fiber indutry seedstock or for show with the accoyo fleece characteristics. Lots of Accoyo and fine Sollocota in her pedigree.
She has maintained her fineness very well.
Service Sire: Accoyo America Synergy ARI#
30669840 White Due Date: 9/15/2017 What do you get when you breed a full sister to the amazing PCA Hemi-Accoyo Nautilus back to her sire? Synergy: 'the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the parts' This aptly-named alpaca is the reflection of his incredible pedigree.
Start with top-quality Accoyo import dam, 6PERUVIAN ACCOYO SICUANI 6410IMPR98. After producing an in-utero import, Greg Mecklem selected the great Alianza import, Hemingway, to sire her next cria: PCA Hemi-Accoyo Nautilus. Known to all serious breeders, Nautilus made a name for himself as a sire of elite-fleeced alpacas. Thereafter Sicuani was bred to the immortal Hemingway, producing four more crias sired by him - including Accoyo America Sequoia.
Following the time-honored practice of master breeders, Mecklem bred Sequoia back to her own sire, to 'lock in' the traits that made Hemingway famous: fine, dense fleece with well-defined crimp and organization. Fleece that stays fine over time. Look at Synergy's fiber stats at SEVEN years old! Synergy's fleece exhibits the fineness, density, crimp style, soft handle & brightness you are looking for!
It was a bold move, and it payed off. Synergy is bred to 'stamp' his progeny with the outstanding traits of his heritage. And he has. Look at their EPDs. Hemingway is gone. Synergy is 75% Hemingway 'blood' by pedigree. Breeding to Synergy is now the closest you can get to breeding to Hemingway himself.
Next take a look at his 2013 histogram, showing an AFD of 20.6 at SEVEN years old. Want more? His recent skin biopsy, taken at age six and a half, reveals amazing density: 65 follicles/sq mm. and an S:P ratio of 12!
His EPDs may be his most impressive feature. His 2014 EPD scores rank him in the TOP 1% for SIX traits. Click on the photo at right to see. Five out of six (83%) of his Offspring are in the top 1% of EPDs as well!
