Sire: Snowmass Midnight Sun ARI#
30820425 Light Fawn Sunny has been very effective as a herdsire in our breeding program. He has brought the fleece characteristics one would expect in a light fawn multi champion and he has consistantly put those charactistics into clors from fawn through black...producing banners in his offspring.
Sure he can produce at least 505 black when bred to black (he has exceeded that), but look at the fiber analytics on our webpage, in both micron and density...especially in black.
He not only has improved micron all the dams that he has been bred to but has consistantly produced densities over 50, even in balck and his offspring are all in the top percentages of all blacks sampled through Alpaca Consulting USA, Ian Watt and includes RR Belleza Nera, the densest female alpaca in ANY color that he has biopsied as of 9/17/13..a striking blue black female.
Sunny's density is not too shabby:
Follicle testing (Ian Watt)(6/30/09)
Follicle density:63.17/mm2
S/P 11.2:1
Dp:Ds ratio: 1.51
He is a utility breeder who will fit into any color breeding program and raise across herd statistics across the color spectrum.
We are trying to keep a relatively small herdire row and Sunny's genetics have been well represented in our herd, so he is also being offered for sale.
He's young and has a strong libido. He settled his first female at 17 months.
Dam: MKC's Absolute Black-Berry ARI#
30611108 True Black Black as night!. Outstanding coverage. Terrific head with full face coverage. Boxey conformation with big bone. Proud stance and motion. And of course there's the fiber that only a champion can produce. Black-berry is a charmer and as typey as they come. She is a compact, well proportioned hembra who has established herself as a very competent matron. She has brought outstanding Premier's Absolute lines to our breeding program.
In a short show career she has established herself as a true champion!
We have had outstanding production out of Blackberry. Her most recent cria, RR Nuovo Mondo (out of our own Midnight Sun) is a stellar true black, who even as a cria is showing very dense, beautifully defined and very bright fleece that breaks into well organized bundles.
Despite that, we have chosen to take her to grey for 2012 and are breeding her to our rising star, RR Gun's Kit Carson. This is one that we wish we could keep!

Maestro is exactly what we were hoping for in this breeding outcome:
His mom is an outstanding true black out of Absolute. She is a 3 time banner winner with impeccable conformation and a fleece that carries winning attributes even as she develops into a mature matron.
Dad is our own Midnight Sun, a multiple champion fawn/ recessive black . He acquited himself brilliantly over some of the best light fawn genetics in the country at some of the most competitive shows, but carries the recessive black allele that he has transmitted to Maestro.
A review of dad's serial histograms and Watt skin biopsy results offer support for why we believe that Maestro should be expected, when he likewise is biopsied at age 2 should bring to black, some of the fleece characteristics one would expect to see only in light colored classes.
Maestro's 2012 histogram, at 18 months of age, confirm not only a superior fineness in black, but a SD of 3.7, and comfort factor of 98.9%. Those are stats that are evident in his excellent "hand", and move him to the "front of the class"!
Pedigree??? Fuggetaboudit!
