Distinct GREY Coloration - Harlequin
LHSA Crazy Horse by Kolaqua
Suri, Herdsire (Male), Proven | Dark Rose Grey
ARI# 32119657, D.O.B. 6/12/2011, Full Peruvian
Sire: GLR Kolaqua ARI#
30358621 Dark Silver Grey GLR Kolaqua is a stunning dark silver grey 4P Condor grandson out of the only Condor daughter we have ever kept on the ranch. His mother GLR Amelita, is a grey appaloosa who was the 2004 AAA Futurity Grey Female Color Champion. Kolaqua was the 2008 Grey Male Color Champion at both Mapaca and AOBA Nationals in Sandy Utah and won the 2009 AOBA Grey Male Color Championship in Cleveland. He is dense and greasy to the touch, has great luster, bone, a beautiful head and the mellow temperament of his papa, Synergy. His shear weight was an impressive 11.8 pounds! Kolaqua has two full siblings who are both multiple grey color champions as well: GLR Coyhaique, 2007 Mapaca Male Grey Color Champion, and 2007 AOBA Nationals Reserve Grey Color Champion, and GLR Atacama, 2009 AAA Futurity and MAPACA Grey Female Color Champion, and 2009 AOBA Nationals Grey Female Color Champion. Kolaqua started breeding in 2009 and and now has many seasons of offspring on the ground with plenty of blue ribbon and championship banner winners to his name. Two of his 2012 kids were GLR Rockoro, and GLR Tashina, who traveled with us in 2013 as members of our show string. Rockoro was the 2013 Reserve Grey Male Color Champion at both MAPACA and the AAA Futurity and the AOBA Nationals Grey Male Color Champion as a juvenile. GLR Tashina as a juvenile was the 2013 Reserve Grey Female Champion at both Mapaca and the AAA Futurity, and in 2014 was the AOA Nationals' and the AAA Futurity Grey Female Color Champion, and the first alpaca to win a Grey Judges Choice award ever. His 2013 cria, GLR Taj, was the last to be born in November that year and too young to show .He may very well be the best grey cria we have ever produced. He was born with wrinkles all the way down his neck and back and his luster is remarkable. His micron test came back at a little over two years old as a 19.3. We are very pleased with how he and all of his siblings have matured. Kolaqua keeps producing awesome cria both grey and colored with excellent fiber and beautiful conformation. He is certainly a ranch favorite with his mellow disposition too!
Dam: LHSA Calista ARI#
31060141 Dark Brown Beautiful Luster and Locks! Beautiful regal posture and grace. Calista's fiber is phenomenal and full of luster and heavy locks. Her background is noteworthy, Angel, Inca Hoots, Baron, and Luminoso make up this gorgeous female's heritage. She is everything you look for in a phenotype suri. The show judges liked her also!
LHSA Calista was a great dam to her cria's, most notably our Herdsire LHSA Crazy Horse by Kolaqua and Dxlnd Summer Rose by Diamonte.
Her histogram completed at age 2 yrs was pleasantly surprising for such a dark brown female directly from an import 4Peruvian USA Empresaria 6924. She shears at 2.5 - 3 pounds of fiber annually. She is still physically built and fit as a breeding female or would make an excellent companion and fiber producing animal for many more years. Her Dam Empresaria lived to age 23yrs.

Crazy Horse is a stunning, proven male. His first breeding sold at less than a year old. Visitors to our farm are drawn to his unique harlequin coloration.
If his genetic history holds true, you could see either Black or Grey in his offspring. His density is 45.5 and his SP is 9.6. His secondary fibers average 22.9 micron with primaries at 32.8 micron for a spread of 9.9 micron.
Crazy Horse was evaluated for the "S.H.I.P." (Suri Herd Improvement Program). His composite score was 4.7 out of a potential 5.0. He scored all 5.0 points in all confirmation areas as well as natural luster. He has high marks in fineness and handle. An outstanding male!
Don't forget to look at Crazy Horses' Awards. He wins every time in the show ring because he's the complete package -- great lineage, confirmation, luster, lock and color.
Crazy Horse exhibits all the traits one looks for in a future herdsire! Beautiful confirmation, coverage, and suri style.
His Sire was GLR KOLAQUA ( see picture). Kolaqua sired 36 registered cria over his career, many of them were shown with winning results. Kolaqua was shown from 2008 to 2010. He placed 1st 6 times, along with Reserve Champion twice and Champion once!
