Sire: Captain Nemo ARI#
849790 Dark Rose Grey We love Nemo. We all love Nemo, from our partners the Sweeney's at Celtic Criations to all who come to our farm. He is proud, he is stately, he is charming and he truly may be one of the smartest alpacas I have ever met. He definitely knows that he is king over his world, he controls his herd, and they all are much better behaved with Nemo around.
Nemo has many wonderful traits that he passes onto his progeny, from incredible conformation, exquisite fineness, lovely crimp, and excellent density. He stamps them - and you can always tell a Nemo cria. Don't get me wrong - they aren't cookie cutters. They are distinct and they have an attitude and a presence that is recognizable to all of us. And he also passes on his great temperment and his intelligence. You know the saying that alpacas don't challenge fences? Well someone forgot to tell Nemo. He challenges them all. We swear he knows how to pick locks. He knows how to escape from any fence, gate, paddock, or arena around. I have seen him shimmy under a fence - like a marine crawling under fencing in boot camp. And he has taught his sons. And this is because he has a one track mind - girls.
Here's a story: One late night Nemo decided it was time for a panty raid. And at 1am in the morning, he pried open a gate, he broke out of "camp"; and led 12 very very happy males over to the girls barn. The girls were thrilled, the boys were thrilled, perhaps I wasn't as thrilled......I had to get them all back. I know he was the instigator because i saw him do it. But to his credit, he also helped me corral one of the most indignant boys and get him haltered and led back down to the boys barn. Nemo pranced back to the boys barn, as proud as could be.
Ever since that night Nemo has been my buddy.
Nemo has many fine attributes other than being a girl loving escape artist. Nemo is as rare as they come... Full Peruvian, solid dark rose grey!!! This male has it all...color, fineness, crimp, charisma, presence, and atti
Dam: FAF Lluvia ARI#
1436716 Medium Rose Grey luvia is a true beauty with soft and dense rose grey fiber. The name Lluvia is Spanish for rain. She was named that for the small patch or red fiber under her left eye, that makes her look like she might be crying.
Lluvia comes from a line of rose grays and is an asset to anyone's breeding program. She has a wonderful presense and conformation. So if you are looking for color, conformation, crimp and quality look no further than Lluvia. Lluvia has been bred to our premiere herdsire Captain Nemo. A new line in rose greys! Summer Sunset was born to LLuvia at the end of the summer of 2007. Summer is just beautiful. One of the nicest girls on the farm. She is a rich brown, with the Nemo conformation and coverage. She never turned into a solid rose grey that we were expecting - but she is a beautiful friendly girl. Truly one of the friendliest girls on the farm. We bred Lluvia back to Captain Nemo and have a full sister to Summer Sunset, the lovely rose grey girl Cleopatra. A lovely traditional rose grey with the little rose grey cap and tuxedo.
She is expecting a cria in late spring 2012 sired by our own 3X Champion Silver Crown.
If you are interested in Lluvia - let us know - she is a lovely girl - and will add great genetics to your herd.
Description
Cleopatra of Rosehaven was one of the 3 rosegrey Captain Nemo girls born the same week. She is out of our girl Lluvia, and is a full sister to one of our favorite alpacas Summer Sunset, now of Crystal Glen Alpacas. We're thrilled that Cleo grew up just like Summer, who is a beautiful good size girl. Cleo sports a beautiful rose grey coat. She was named Cleo because of the very exotic look she had as a cria. You can see that in her image pictures.
Cleopatra has recently been bred with Morning Mist Farm's Sienna Mist, who has consistently sired exceptional cria for us. We look forward to the outcome!
