Sire: Accoyo Principe Dorato ARI#
850771 Light Fawn Principe is the proud sire of the 2012 AOBA Nationals Male Fawn Color Champion! Sinstina's Accoyo Destinati followed up his Reserve Color Banner at Nationals in 2011 with the Color Championship in 2012. A great tribute to Principe who continues to produce banner winners in all colors.
There are not many fawn full Accoyo herdsires, but if you add the Legacy genetic line to that description, you really have something special. Now take the description and include his remarkable show career, and the result is a male that is predicted to make a huge impact on a farm's breeding program. Placing in the top two positions at large Level V shows, this boy has been judged with all the top fawns in the country by the most experienced judges. Even at 7 years of age, his fleece feels SOFT and DENSE. His 2010 histogram showed a 23.7 AFD with a CV of 18.1. Prince's cria have demonstrated his ability to pass along color, even through white dams and provide great fiber qualities and conformation. Prince's cria have included dark fawn, tuxedo gray, medium brown and black . He is throwing color darker than the dam 70% of the time! Even better than his ability to produce color is the remarkable fiber his cria exhibit. You'll be happy with the fineness...routinely 15-16 microns...and the beautiful crimp and density he provides. Prince has over 10 Banner winning offspring to his credit in gray, brown, and fawn and this Spring produced his first Judge's Choice winner from Alpacas of Pine Creek Valley. At the 2011 Southern Select Show, Prince had three banner winners from three different breeding programs...including his newest rose gray female! Last year Prince put TWO classic tuxedo gray cria on the ground for us out of gray dams!! Contact us for additional details on his cria and his fiber.
Principe is part of our Highland's Progeny Promise. You have the choice of selecting a Herdsire and putting down only $500. When the cria is born, you will only pay the balance when You decide to register the cria. Our breeding fees are very reasonable...all under $2200 for Champion herdsires...so you are still getting a great value for your breeding dollar! Check out the details on our home page or contact us for more information. We feel like Principe is another good choice for breeders looking for density, fineness, and lovely crimp structure...along with Accoyo genetics... for their breeding females.
Co-owned with Legacy Criations and Windy City Alpacas.
Dam: Peruvian Made of the Mist ARI#
1162400 Beige Sale Pending, this sale smarts a little , but a great acquisition for a Lingering Fineness addict!
Maid of the Mist is an AlpacaRosa Fab5 Dream team member. The genetics tell the story, BIG TIME.
Typical Misty Maiden lingering fineness
18 MICRON AT 5 YEARS OLD!!!, with 59 Curve!
AROSA = Full Fiber Histogram Disclosure please shop and compare!
Her first cria, Prospector, very dense, with high frequency crimp and an 19 micron with 17 CV and 99.6% comfort factor.Mist's 2nd cria, Mystical Maiden, is a fawn female! Super Dense and a 17.49 Micron!
When we looked at Maid of the Mist's pedigree it got our attention. When we looked at her fleece it validated her pedigree. An accidental breeding, in effect, produced a line bred offspring (Maid of Mist) from one of the rarest and elite bloodlines in the country, Misty Maiden. Her sire is SCA Peruvian Magnum, a Misty Maiden/Per.Camelot son. Her dam is Peruvian MistyRose, a Misty Maiden/Accoyo Avenger daughter.
There is a good reason why Mist has produced such an outstanding award winning son(Prospector was sold at 8 months old). Genetically speaking, she is a Misty Maiden daughter.
For those of you unfamilar with Misty Maiden fame, click on our Miss Priss page, and read all about her sibling's accomplishments. The more we see of our Miss Priss's bloodline , the more we are amazed at how dominant these genetics are: Super fine (16 micron) fiber, with incredible bundling of super defined lustrous crimp. Then to top it all off, This bloodline is incredibly dense.
Mist's microns have been 16 & 18 her first 2 years. And she exhibits some very nice high frequency crimp as well.
She is bred to our own incredible boy Shazzam for an 08 Spring cria.
Mary Goodman of Mary's Alpacas made the statement that Maid of the Mist "is the densest animal on my farm". Mary has some incredible bloodlines(Caligula) on her farm as most of you know.
Like most breeders with Misty Maiden bloodlines on their farm, they Know these alpacas are usually some of the densest animals on their farm ....not to mention the finest too! Alpaca Geneticist, Andy Merriweather, had these remarks on Maid of the Mist being line bred , "there is not a danger of breeding to a line-bred animal. If it is not defective, it is not defective, PERIOD. Line bred animals are not secretly defective, nor are they hiding something bad that any other animal might have as well". ..."I would certainly have bought her myself...." . So, what we have here is genetically very similar to a Miss Priss sister! The Accoyo Ranch successfully enhanced its herd with such similar genetic breedings. Here in the states, our alpaca genetic base is so small, line breeding is risky business

2013 News Flash! We entered Vinnie's fleece in the Minnesota Alpaca Expo judged by Kristen Buhrman and he took home yet another Reserve Champion Banner at almost 4 years of age!
"Vinnie" is a medium fawn 7X champion co-owned with Don and Connie Payne of Oak Lawn Alpacas. This is some of the finest, softest fiber you will find. The high frequency crimp and density is amazing. On top of that, he is sired by Snowmass Millenium who is a 4Peruvian Legacy son and Millenium’s dam is a Hemingway daughter. Millenium passed away in September 2011. Vinnie’s dam is an Elite Maximus daughter and also has Hemingway in her pedigree. The best part is Vinnie’s dam is bay black so there is a very good possibility that he will cover black. What an amazing pedigree of Millenium, Legacy, Hemingway, Elite Maximus, Accoyo Elite and 5Peruvian Valeroso. 1/2 interest in Legacy sold for $750,000 making him the first million dollar alpaca.
He is extremely gentle and has a medium frame. At 3 years of age, Vinnie has outstanding fiber stats starting with a micron of 18.4 and Mean Curvature of 51.1.
His skin biopsy results are: 74.86 follicles sq mm, s/p 15.3:1, secondary fiber 16.9 microns, primary 21.6. This is an outstanding difference of only 4.7 microns. Only 20% medulated fibers. The average is over 52%.
Norm Evans places Vinnie in the top 1% of males that he has measured!
Description
This a girl that We have HUGE expectations at this point 30 days old. She is incredibly dense, 14 micron, with amazing presense............the pictures tell you what we are talking about!
Ahhhh yes, love it when our predictions prove out! GG wins reserver Championship in her second show!
First cria is an awesome beige female sired by 10X champion Light Sabre!
A great pedigree, this Dense, fine girl has lingering fineness genetics that have proven itself time and time again. Her Dam , Maid of the Mist still possesses a 18 AFD at age 6 and she has passed this trait on to every one of her crias. This girl is perfect for any breeding program stressing lingering fineness.
It was only because of the quality of GG, that we recently sold her dam, Maid of the Mist. That was a hard one to let go of, but we think GG was an improvement over Maid.
Misty Maiden, Accoyo Legacy,Accoyo Royal Avenger, Magnum, are just a few of the incredible bloodlines that make up her pedigree.
