In 2009, Enlightenment won the AOBA Reserve Color Championship at 54 months just after taking a Championship at the Kentucky Classic Show. He was the highest selling alpaca at the 2009 Futurity Auction, taking in over double the price of the next closest male. Enlightenment has produced a multitude of champion offspring in all colors, starting with his 2nd cria, Snowmass Enlightened - a rose grey 12X Champion who has gone on to be a great herdsire in his own right. A female cria, KBA Enlightened, went on to win 10 Championships and produce the top selling grey at the 2015 Parade of Champions Auction (for $47,500).
