Mermaid's Paloma came to LHSA after her home farm was destroyed by a tornado. We took her herd in for boarding and she was one of several that stayed as a part of our farm. She has beautiful 2-tone fiber with dark brown as her base and highlights of medium brown swirled throughout her neck and blanket. She is halter trained and surprisingly shows no fear of storms after surviving the tornado.
Paloma is a great companion animal for any female herd. She does not attempt to dominate and accepts new alpacas well.
**A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously.
• All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria.
• Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis.
• All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm.
• Bred females receive a minimum of 2 ultrasounds performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician.
We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
