AROSA Peruvian Night Moves
Huacaya, Female, Proven | Bay Black
ARI# 31365802, D.O.B. 7/30/2008, Full Peruvian
Sire: Our Peruvian Midnight Man ARI#
1097160 True Black We have looked for several years for that ONE black male that was conformationaly outstanding (strong and heavy boned) yet met our uncompromising demands for exceptional fleece – together with co-owners Dougherty Creek Alpacas, we believe we have found him!
With his cria fleece shorn at 8 months, Midnight Man was deservingly awarded the 2005 AOBA Reserve Black Fleece Color Championship. Remarkable not only for the males he competed against in the class, but also for such a young male.
His fleece is what every breeder of black alpacas seeks - highly crimped, soft and bundled - but it’s really no surprise – his entire petigree is all about fleece. This and his flawless confirmation are found on BOTH sides of his pedigree in Peruvian Black Forest (THE True Black son of Royal Fawn) and the extremely dense silver grey CPeruvian Silvio.
As his ribbons indicate, Midnight Man is a high quality stud - his progeny prove it. To date he has thrown 6 of 8 Black offspring – (4 of those out of MB dams) and they are excellent.
Peruvian Midnight Man is also being offered as a selection in the “The Pool” – an outstanding opportunity to stamp this kind of quality and color all over your herd for a very reasonable fee.
Dam: Peruvian Piper ARI#
30546677 Medium Brown Piper's black cria from last year,Night Moves, won a championship at the 09 Kentucky Classic and 3rd place at Nationals.
Followed that up with a striking Rico Suave fawn male. 2011 offspring, Pipers Viper, won 3rd at National. He is quite nice with long crimpy staple.
This year we bred Piper to our Tuscan Black. Tuscan Black has amazing fleece, so the offspring should be very interesting and hoping black. We GOT IT! an awesome Black offsrping with amazing crimp and brightness
Piper is a Sweet girl in more ways than one. Her Super sweet personality is the first thing that sets her apart from the herd . But as you start looking through her fiber , She's got the SWEETEST FLEECE! Nice high frequency crimp, fine long staple and a great handle. Piper's fleece is VERY consistent throughout her blanket, extending down her legs and under her belly! She has perfect conformation with straight legs and compact build.

Piper did well in the showring, never finishing below 2nd Place and Always being singled out for the best fleece in her class, Her bloodlines are very unique, with a pronounced background of black. We look for Piper to throw a lot of black for us over the years.
This time around we took the opportunity to breed Piper to a visiting 8 year old herdsire that has a documented 17.1 micron at 8 years old. He is one of a kind and should add super fineness to Piper's already impressive fleece!

Second year in a row that our Futurity Champion, Crystal, gave us a black Tuscan Gold cria. The first, AROSA Dazzlyn, won 7 banners
Tuscan Black has all the signs of becoming a special boy. Very fine with brilliant sheen and high frequency crimp lend us to believe we may have another black champion like his 7X Champ full sister AROSA Dazzlyn, his 5X champ dam Crystal, and his 5X champ sire, Tuscan Gold.

***** Night Moves just had her TRUE Black Female cria from Accoyo Cabos!

WE bred her to our Champion fawn Accoyo Cabos who has a true black on the ground. We are hoping for a similar outcome.
WE made 3 gorgeous champion black females in 2008.
We sold our first champion Black offspring of the year (7X Champion AROSA Dazzlyn) at 6 months old. We sold our AOBA Nationals black juvi Blue ribbon winner and wound up keeping what we think has the BEST fleece of the three! Night Moves fleece had the best fleece of the three with higher frequency crimp and extreme density. The other two were stronger in Phenotype. Night Moves did quite well in the showring winning Reserve Championship under Lavan at Kentucky Classic. Lavan noted her density, brightness and character as her strengths. Night Moves won 3rd at AOBA Nationals finishing behind Blue ribbon winner AROSA Cassy! ( our other black Champion black female of 2008)
WOW! This girl was born with amazing elite black fleece.Night Moves is fine and VERY VERY crimpy. As she has matured, Night Moves has demonstrated her strengths to be density, uniform crimp, nice handle, nice coverage. Perfect bite and perfectly straight conformation. She could have done better in the showring if she had been larger in size and not shorn so late in the year.
Her dam was a blue ribbon winner with exceptional high frequency crimp. Her sire was our National Champion black herdsire, Midnight Man.
We decided to breed Her to our champion male Accoyo Cabos, lookin forward to this cria!
.........Piper woke last night to the sound of thunder
how far off, she cushed and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Aint it funny how the Night Moves
