Snowmass RROYAL Stars daughter!
RR ALESSANDRA - SOLD
Huacaya, Female, Unproven | Light Brown
ARI# 35117599, D.O.B. 6/22/2014,
Sire: Snowmass RRoyal Stars ARI#
30820456 White SOLD
Quality breeds quality, at least most of the time! A quick look at RRoyal Stars ARI certificate will illustrate just how painstakingly the Skinners, at Snowmass Alpacas, constructed their breeding decisions to arrive at this offspring. We purchased mom as the second highest selling female at their 2007 auction.
Roy has quietly ascended to the top of our breeding program and undeniably will be a major contributor. He is out of 2 outstanding Snowmass fawns. We believe that he is a "switch hitter" and expect that he will produce both great whites and more importantly color. Mom is one of our strongest foundation females and has produced champions repeatedly. Dad is one of the best Hemingway sons with an outstanding production record, including Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass XXXtreme (brown).
He is incredibly dense, very fine, and his fleece "glows". It is extremely uniform with a baby soft hand. It breaks into long, silky, draping, opalescent locks belying his incredible fineness/density.
2009 was a breakout season for Roy. He brought raves from every judge who saw him and acquitted himself well against some of the best in the country.
Follicle density testing (Ian Watt)
Follicle density: 79.51 /mm2
S/P: 13.0:1
Dp:Ds ratio 1.42
" This is the 4th densest alpaca that we have tested in the US and the 5th in the world" (as of 6/30/09)
(For comparison, El Nino was higher at 89.5 in follicle density, but had an S/P 12.5 compared to Roy's 13.0/1.)
We have used RRoy across our herd now for three years with remarkable results in increased density and fineness. We are now using his best son RR Arturo (see his biopsy results) to replace his father in our colored program. RRoy's light fawn son, RR Bacchus just won FIRST PLACE and COLOR CHAMPION at his first show under Diana Timmerman. This is an opportunity to have one of the densest alpacas in this country working for you and improving your entire herd. Please feel free to call us to ask any questions or to discuss!
Dam: RR MONA LISA ARI#
31620475 Dark Fawn Carmen is one of our favorite GnR daughters and had a brilliant show career. What a thrill it is to see her first offspring out of Midnight Sun. Carmen is a champion in brown and has had excellent serial histograms and a follicle skin testing by Ian Watt not only for follicle density and S/P ratio but a differntial between her primary and secondary fibers of just 5.6 microns...very impressive and quite obvious in a very soft handling fleece...like butter!
Mona Lisa is all that we would expect out of Snowmass Midnight Sun. "Sunny" has had a brilliant show career, excellent analytics (including Watt biopsy of 63.17/mm2 and S/P of 11.2:1) and consistant excellence of production in our herd, producing two of the densest female alpacas in the US to date (RR BELLEZA NERA and RR Abigail Adams) (watt).
We bred her to our RR Arturo, whose biopsy stats are outstanding for density, S/P ratio and P-S differential an got this stunning little boy RR Warhol who will be a nice addition to your show team. He is not only adorable but has stunning fleece at shearing.
Mona has been bred to our RR Adagio for what we expect will be another beautiful cria. Both Mona's mom and dad are carriers of a black allele and produced outstanding blacks, and we will try to pull black with this breeding.
Mona is also a sweet girl who is easy to work with. She has produced Allesandra who is excellent and on our showstring and has many productive years ahead of her.
Service Sire: RR LEGATO GRIGIO - SOLD TO CASCADE ROSE ALPACAS ARI#
31620031 Dark Silver Grey Due Date: 10/27/2016 Currently breeding in WA state...
Legato Grigio is the assimilation of the 2 most important lines that we wanted to bring to our grey breeding program. He comes by his elite fleece not unexpectedly.
Dad is RR Gun's A'Blazin' who has now shown by both histograms, and follicle skin testing that he is consistantly producing fineness, density and uniformity and was a 15 time banner winner.
Mom, Snowmass Golden Dreams, has been one of our best producers. We have amassed countless banners from her offspring, among whom is our pre=potent herdsire Snowmass Midnight Sun.
LG has demonstrated his pepotency repeatedly in his production. AS we had hoped, he is able to transmit solid grey as a dominant, in many shades. His progeny, as tested by histograms and biopsies (to date) attest to his prepotency...take a minute to check the stats on his offspring. There is but one to date that is not still in our herd...we have retained them all.
His non grey production has championed in solid colors, fawn and black in particular.
His pattern appears to be a spotting, not tuxedo , pattern and we have used him on solid colors with excellent success.
We have not bred him to tuxedo patterns. He has not produced any blue eyed whites.
The numbers don"t lie:
Histograms:
2012 16.0/ 3.9/ 23/ CF 100%/ length 90mm
2013 18.3/ 4.1/ 23/ CF99%/ length 105mm
2014 17.3/ 3.85/ 22.24/ CF 100 length 90.0
2015: 19.3/ 4.3/ 22.3/ CF 97.3 length 90mm
Biopsy (Alpaca Consulting/ Ian Watt):
Density 64.6/mm2
S/P ratio 11.8:1
In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 25.9 SD 2.8
In-skin mean secondary fibre diameter: 20.6 SD 2.8
Comments:
Excellent density well supported by an above average S:P ratio and very uniform fiber populations, among the best recorded for this color to date.
There is simply no way that we would be offering Legato Grigio, if we didn't have sons Brubeck, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie now standing on our stud row...
Description
Snowmass RRoyal Stars left an indelible mark on our breeding program, loading us up with offspring to include 2 sons on our stud row.
Alessandra is no exception in the quality in his production, although truth be told, Mona Lisa, Alessanra's mom, is no slouch, having taken a blue ribbon in competition herseld...and at the same show Alessandra had her debut just a couple of years later.
She is beautifuly conformed, with excellent proportion and gait.
She has a very uniform, beautifully handling fleece with good brightness, density and definition.
This is a quality female who will settle into any herd breeding for color.
