ARI# 35211044, D.O.B. 6/7/2014,
Sire: RR GUNS ABLAZIN' -15x banner winner ARI#
31332170 Dark Fawn Co-owned by Renaissance Ridge Alpacas and UINTA ALPACAS and residing in Utah right off of I-80 for easy transport access!
Gun's A'Blazin' did in fact come into our herd in a "blaze" and took us through an incredible ride as a youngster.
He was without question the best fleeced alpaca that we had seen in our herd. He went on to have a brilliant show career and start his breeding career at only 23 months of age.
He was biopsied and follicle tested by Ian Watt and as of July 2010, is the densest non white alpaca ever tested by or either through him or Jim Watt's lab in Australia, of any in the world.
Although we rely heavily on biopsies for density, we put equal importance on histograms and especially "hand and eye", none of which Blaze has disappointed us with.
More importantly, his production has been nothing less than outstanding having produced champions in grey, black, brown and fawn.
We have our own "in house" EPD system and unfortunately are unable to demonstrate the analytics on Blaze's offspring. All of the ones in our herd have been done to date (9/2015):
Have a look at the data on the his page on the Renaissance Ridge website...the remarkable thing in our breeding scheme is not only that he has consistently and dramatically improved fiber density over the dams, many of whose data can be linked to, but that density has been accompanied by an across the board improvement the differential in micron between primary and secondary fiber, and an excellent SD in each fiber population.
Likewise the progeny histograms support the improvement in fineness, and uniformity.
Blaze has been a powerful influence in our breeding program.

Dam: SNOWMASS GOLD STARZ_deleted_11/19/2022 1:32:05 AM ARI#
841156 Dark Fawn The grand dam of our fawn breeding program retired after her final and aptly named cria RR Starz Magnum Opus. She is now retired and is not for sale. She will live out her days here grazing and basking in the sun.
Here are lines that represent Snowmaster and 4P Legacy. Starz has produced consistanly produced superfine, less tha 17 micron, cria. She is fine, dense, uniform with outstanding definition in her fiber at age 7, and put into a conformationally perfect package. Her sire, Legacy Gold, sold for $500K at the Snowmass 2006 auction and when we came across her as lot #18 in 2007, we knew that we had to have her.
Her 2007 cria, out of Snowmass Royal Rose, i.e. Snowmass RRoyal Stars, is on our herdsire row and has been tested by Ian Watt:
His follicle density of 79.51 and S/P of 13.0/1 place him as the 4th densest alpaca they've tested in the US, 5th in the world.
Of course, that's only a small part of the biopsy data, histogram and expert show ring evaluation against the best that we feel, have placed him in the superstar category. See his listing for more detail on acquiring these superlative genetics.
Her 2008 breeding to our own Guns n Roses gave us a gorgeous superdense, super bright daughter, RR Rose Fiona. This breeding was repeated for 2009 to produce RR Rose La Reina. Like her older siblings, La Reina has it all...the density, length, definition and of course the eye popping brightness and lush hand.
It was only after the arrival and appreciation of how much like her older sister she was that we reluctantly decided to bring RR Rose Fiona, undoubtedly one of our best progeny, to the 2010 Futurity Auction.
This is a home run mom, who we feel will be pivotal in our breeding program. Offspring RR Tutankhamun, RR Starz Magnum Opus, RR Contessa...
Description
Marquessa's mom is hands down the best production female if one looks at the number and consistant quality Her brother (Snowmass RRoyal Stars) stood on her herdsire row for 3 years and sire some of our best.
Mom and 3 sisters are "locked in" to our production list.
We've used 3 males on Gold Starz over the years, all of them quality sires, but it's mom's flawless phenotype that is replicated.
Marquessa is carrying an extraordinary fleece, with excellent density, uniformity and brightness. It's ridiculously long! And she has beaten some pretty stiff competition in the show ring!
Marquessa had a phenomenal female cria by Cezanne, his first, and I am red-doing the breeding without a doubt, hoping for another just like RR Stare Decisis (Starry)
