1033700 True Black FULL PERUVIAN ALEJANDRO - BLACK COLOR CHAMPION-LIMITED AVAILABILITY
There are few things in this industry that really get my attention faster than watching an impressive herdsire. The magnificent ones demand your respect and carry themselves as a regal contender on their way to a prize fight. Just look at Alejandro, he has HERDSIRE written all over him. Flawless conformation. Extremely bright ultra-fine fleece. Coverage to the grass. Gorgeous head. Alejandro is absolutely stunning and his offspring are hitting the showring and knocking it out of the park! Dark, beautiful examples of Elite Black Genetics - Alejandro is even pushing color thru on pure white lineages. This is one amazing herdsire.
Genetics: his sire, multi blue ribbon winning sire Lorenzo, has been producing outstanding blue ribbon and color champion crias ranging in colors from true black, to dark chocolate, and all the way to the beautiful and rare, rose grey.
Alejandro's dam is 5P Ajoyani, a legendary producer that has maintained her fineness over time. At 8 years old her AFD came back at 18.3 microns. Most breeders would be tickled to have those numbers on any light colored cria, let alone on a dark production female! Alejandro’s brothers include 5Peruvian Red Hot (who is part of the Cas-Cad-Nac North American Alpaca Stud), as well as Snowmass Midnight Magic who is one of the top black males in the U.S. These make for rare genetics and marketing opportunities for those showbound offspring!
Get the picture? These rare dark genetics make things happen. His offspring are just amazing. Plus these babies sell and sell well. Contact us and reserver your breedings.
Dam: FCA Peruvian Maravilla ARI#
1127966 Medium Silver Gary Maravilla means marvel or wonder in Spanish and were they ever right. She is the perfect size and proportion with straight legs and topline and marvelous fleece. We are proud to have Maravilla as part of our herd at Poplar Hill.
Maravilla's first cria was a medium silver grey female out of Accoyo's Goldsmith named Simply Silver. Simply Silver placed 1st in her juvenile silver grey female class at the 2007 Kentucky Classic. Amazing phenotype on Simply Silver, quite stunning.
Maravilla had an amazing true black son, Phantom in 2008. Phantom has held his own in the ring being right up in the top of the class and has now moved into his well deserved spot as herdsire.
Maravilla's newest arrival - Peruvian Lakota - daughter of El Corazon and in light rose grey, besides being so beautiful is also a multiple winner of halter blue and now a RESERVE COLOR CHAMP as a juvi! Maravilla does it again!
Service Sire: Skyline's North Star 2010 ARI#
31974110 Medium Silver Grey Due Date: 5/26/2014 North Star is a striking Medium Silver Grey male with exceptional fleece and pedigree. North Star’s Sire is the famous, full Accoyo Rose Grey, McGwire, now deceased. McGwire sired many wonder offspring during his day, including Emerald Farms Orlando Cloud. North Star’s Dam is our Black Color Champion Ventura’s Lola. Lola, at 5 years of age, still has a 21.0 AFD fleece with a soft velvety handle.
North Star has inherited fine fleece characteristics from both his parents. His fleece is dense and uniform. He exhibits a well-defined crimp as well as brightness and excellent staple length. North Star is also conformationally strong and has a proud stance in the pasture. This is a male we would like to keep, but we had many grey boys in 2010 and we can’t keep them all. He is sure to be a great addition to your breeding program.
Description
Poplar Hill’s Peruvian Nutmeg is a Full Peruvian Bay Black Dam that has a dense soft handled fleece that still shows character at her 4th shearing. She is the daughter of AG Peruvian Alejandro, a True Black 2X Reserve Champion and 6X – Blue Ribbon winner that pushes deep color into his offspring. Her Dam, FCA Peruvian Maravilla is a Med. Silver Grey female out of HA Shades of Gray. Maravilla consistently has given Poplar Hill’s Alpacas either Black or Grey award winning cria, and Nutmeg was no exception.
Nutmeg was bred to Poplar Hill's premier herdsire Renosant’s Peruvian El Corazon, a beautiful Light Fawn male, for her maiden breeding. We were thrilled with the result, a Bay Black female.
For Nutmeg’s 2014 cria we decided to try and bring out the grey in her background by pairing her with North Star, our Silver Grey McGwire son. We think this will also produce a fabulous cria as North Star has a beautiful long stapled fleece that exhibits very nice character and a soft handle.
It is hard to let Nutmeg go as she isn’t related to our males and we love her genetics, but our need to downsize creates a great opportunity for you!
