Skyline's Clementine
Huacaya, Female, Unproven | Medium Brown
ARI# 32735147, D.O.B. 6/20/2012, 5/8 Peruvian, 3/8 Chilean
Sire: Snowmass Nova's Nuance ARI#
840847 Bay Black Nuance is an "incredible Incan Black Male from a Royal Line of Elite Fibered Alpacas in Color" from the Snowmass breeding program. Incan Magic, one of Nuance's Grandsires, has a strong history of holding fineness even with age. Incan Magic's dam remains an amazing 16 microns at 9 years of age. Nuance’s Dam, Incan Surprise, has exhibited the same fiber attributes. His sire, Snowmass Nova, has been a multiple champion and is an excellent producer. Nova sold at the Snowmass “The Making of Champions” auction in Feb. '06 for $335,000. Nuance’s pedigree of predicable fiber characteristics and award winning genetics are what we have been striving for in our breeding program. We have bred him to a number of our award-winning females and excitedly look forward to his offspring each year. Nova's Nuance is co-owned with ALPACAS of Tualatin Valley. Visit our
website for the most up-to-date information and to view his cria.
Dam: El Nino's Clarita ARI#
836642 White Not Sold, but want her info still on Openherd as she had wonderful cria!
Sadness, Clarita passed away, she had a great life and lived over 19 years! I so loved her and am sad she is gone, but she did have a wonderful female cria in 2020 so we are blessed!
Clarita is our first home raised girl, and what a beauty. The daughter of El Nino, and granddaughter of Camilio, she has all the right genetics. She is a charmer and was a wonderful first cria. We didn’t show Clarita her first year, as we were so new in the business, but on her way back East to be bred, the Lavans, of Chase Tavern Farms offered to show her at MAPACA, where she got 4th in a very large (14) class of yearling white females.
Clarita has produced five spectacular daughters for us and is one of our best production females on the farm. Clarita’s 1st cria Valencia has an awesome fleece with amazing density and brightness and a histogram at 11 months of 16.9 AFD; 3.2 SD; 18.3 CV; & 0.7 %>30u. Her sire is full Peruvian Greybeard so we are hoping for some grey cria from her! Clarita’s 2nd cria, Choco-latte was equally spectacular selling for $27,000 at the 2007 AOBA auction. We were so pleased with Choco-latte we rebred Clarita to Snowmass Nova’s Nuance for her 2007 cria, Dolce-latte, sold to Wooden Valley Alpacas in the spring of 2011. Her recent daughter, Mocha-latte recently sold and her 2012 daughter Clementine sold this year. We just can't go wrong with this gal!
Description
Skyline’s Clementine is a beautiful Med. Brown daughter of our special, farm favorite dam, El Nino’s Clarita. Clementine was sired by our equally special herdsire, Snowmass Nova’s Nuance. So, what makes them and Clementine so special? Well, Clarita is a fabulously dense and soft El Nino daughter who has retained her fineness for over 10 years, 23.6 in 2012. Although Clarita is white, her dam was a Dark Rose Grey Camilio daughter. Nuance comes from equally impressive Snowmass genetic lines, Nova/Casanova and Incan Magic. We have repeated this breeding many times as we just love what we get! Clementine’s full sister, Choco-Latte, sold at the AOBA auction for 27K, and went on to win a Color Championship in the fall! Often, we get grey from this paring, part of our “latte” line, but this time we achieved this gorgeous Med. Brown girl with black points and lots of bright crimpy fleece. As we’ve repeated this breeding yet again for a 2013 cria, we have decided to let Clementine go. Not an easy choice as she has a sweet disposition and adorable look.
