Sire: AAOA Torbio's Maserati ARI#
1098808 Light Brown Maserati is the “Renaissance Man” for Suri Alpacas. He has is all!
Let’s start with his fleece. Open him up, anywhere on his body, including his legs, and you’ll find lustrous, ropey, dense, fine locks. His consistency is incredible. His density is incredible. His luster is incredible. The quality and the quantity of his fleece is exceptional.
One thing that is very important to me is an alpaca’s temperament. Maserati not only is very obedient and very gentle, he is perhaps the most intelligent alpaca on my farm. I’ve been “clicker-training” him and he is the most receptive and the absolute fastest learner that I have. The only limiting factor in his training is the trainer, me.
Let’s go to his pedigree. His sire is the Herdsire of Champions, Accoyo Torbio. He has all the positive, Accoyo traits that the pre-potent Torbio has been known to pass on. His dam is My Peruvian Capellini, a multiple blue ribbon dam of exceptional quality. She is by the rare and highly sought after Olajuwon, a true black known for throwing beautiful grey offspring. Capellini’s dam, 4Peruvian Marinera, is one of the The Alpaca Trading Company’s finest producing dams. Capellini has phenomenal fleece coming back, year after year, and is the one in Maserati’s pedigree passing on a keen intelligence and beautiful color genes. This production package of AccoyoTorbio and Capellini is rock-solid!
In the Championship circle, Maserati competed against and won Champion over the male that won championships at both the 2006 AOBA Nationals and the All American Futurity. In the shows that Maserati participated, he always came home with top winnings. He’s a multiple champion in both halter and fleece shows.
In his first year of production, Maserati produced 4 color champions on our small ranch, one of which took Judge's Choice at the 2009 AOBA National Conference! He is definitely proving to be an incredible, consistent herd sire.
Dam: WP Captain's Lady Di ARI#
30620971 Dark Silver Grey Lady Di - a name befitting a true princess! This little silver grey sweetheart is the show stopper on the farm. From the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail, she epitomizes what we are striving for in our breeding program.
Lady Di is a full sister to generations of show winners, beginning with her dam, Aloha, and her sire, Captain Morgan and including her full siblings Captain's Goldschlager (10X color champion), Captain's Golden Girl and Captain's Hpnotiq.
Di has the renowned luster that accompanies virtually all Captain Morgan offspring. Add to that her tiny, pencilled locks, greasy feel, density top to bottom, and a very typey suri head and she has all the makings for a foundation female in anybody's suri breeding program.
Description
Combining the unparalleled genetics of Torbio and Bruxo (both deceased) this male has all the qualities we look for in a suri herdsire - Presence, luster, suri phenotype, density, lock structure, and genetics.
Man-O-War sheared nearly 9 lbs. of fiber at less than 2 years of age with a micron of 27.5. The judges consistently placed him in the top half of his class and have commented on his luster and density. We had his fiber sorted by a Certified Fiber Sorter in 2023 and his 10 year old fleece got these comments, "Lovely, Lustrous, few guard hairs" and still carrying some grade 1 fiber!! Pretty amazing for a 10 year old male!
His first cria, Calista, garnered top award of Judge's Choice at the CABA Classic 2017 show as a juvenile!! Judges routinely commented on her long staple length (9" at 10 months of age!). Very heritable trait......Shown as a juvenile Calista won her classes both in regular halter class and Bred & Owned, including her Judge's Choice award!
