Unusual grey undertones in this fleece.
5C's Christine
Huacaya, Female, Proven | Medium Fawn
ARI# 32035698, D.O.B. 8/13/2011, 5/8 Peruvian, 1/4 Bolivian, 1/8 Chilean
Sire: Bevo of Copper Ridge ARI#
30336278 Bay Black My Favorite alpaca!!!!
We spotted this young male at the AOBA conference and were immediately intrigued by what we saw. Bevo is what is referred to as "The Total Package" and five separate judges have mentioned just that. He has incredible density and coverage, and tons of character in his soft-handling fleece. His large boned yet compact frame make a second look common. Under the term "alpaca phenotype" you just might find a picture of Bevo. When we teach people about conformation, we use Bevo as the example. These characteristics are all a must for any breeding program. Bevo's calm, confident, gentle personality just add to his total appeal.
Although Bevo has won in both bay black and dark indefinite classes; his lineage of silver gray, true black, brown, fawn and beige from Chile, Bolivia and Peru shine in this package of diversity. We have bred him to females of a broad spectrum of colors to find his true identity. His first cria have arrived and they are truly amazing. They all have his heavy bone and perfect conformation (see Photo)The fleeces are very dense, very fine, with brightness and in the majority of his crias the color of the dam. The colors range from light fawn to true black. Of the offspring on our farm, the highest AFD of fleece was 19.0. We think that's pretty remarkable.
Bevo's famous mid-western sire Providence Rennes, is the multiple blue ribbon winning, half-brother of Dom Lucilio. And Bevo's mother is out of Desparado, a blue ribbon winner at both AOBA and MAPACA. These are fantastic and uniquely crossed bloodlines now available in Pennsylvania.
At age 13 Bevo's fleece is still remarkably consistent, exhibits beautiful structure and he continues to amaze our shearer with his density.
We proudly co-own Bevo with Chris and Lori Works of Kendall Creek Farms.
Can you tell...... we love this guy!!!!
Dam: Black Tie Affair ARI#
831731 Bay Black We often comment that Black Tie Affair is as beautiful today (at 11 years old) as she was the day we bought her. This stunning female's commanding presence, beautiful conformation and soft fleece make her a pleasure to have on our farm. Tie never fails to impress us with her offspring. She has produced four multi-blue ribbon and Champion females and an absolutely gorgeous male. We have sold two of her daughters, but when we see them we wonder why. Her male cria, Condor, out of the 2006 AOBA Black Halter Champ is listed in our herdsire section.
In 2010, Black Tie presented us with a beautiful dark fawn male cria. This pairing previously produced his sister a multi-blue ribbon and 2X Champion black female named Chantica. Cadillac Jack is impressive.
**********Okay we now have Chris's favorite cria for the year. He was skeptical when I decided to combine Tie and Bevo, but now he thinks I'm brilliant!!!!! On August 13, 2011 while I was attending a PAOBA event, Chris witnessed the birth of this lovely cria. We didn't even try to guess what color this cria would be since both parents have produced crias in the full spectrum of colors. This cria is a beautiful fawn female. At first touch you notice the amazing density and remarkable fineness of the fleece. A slight parting of the fleece reveals beautiful tiny bundles with the brightness that Tie is known for in her crias. Check back for photos of Christine (named for the character from Phantom of the Opera). See Christine at shows in 2012. She's a beauty!!!!!
We have bred Black Tie Affair to Accoyo America Kamikaze and anticipate yet another beautiful cria from her in June of 2013.
Service Sire: TCB's Zephyrson ARI#
1191370 True Black Zephyrson has proven himself to be a prepotent Herdsire. He is a true black son of 10x color champion Zephyrus, son of the renowned Accoyo Royal Fawn. His dam, 5Peruvian Indigo Ink, was a true black female selected on the last importation from Peru. Her name Indigo Ink was given to her at that time.
This male, although never shown, has proven himself to be the producer of top award winning crias stamping them with his trademark exquisite head, fine crimp fleece, full dense coverage from head to toe, and square correct conformation. He is producing all colors including black, grey, brown, and fawn. His crias uniformly have proud carriage, gorgeous heads, award winning fleece, and solid conformation. These crias all have that eye catching, attention getting qualities that are the hallmark of their sire.
We are thrilled to add this gorgeous male to our herdsire row. If you're wishing for that sought after "Teddy Bear" look stamped on your cria, with coverage from top to bottom, solid conformation and fine, long-stapled fleece, this is the herdsire to produce it.
Every time I look at or touch this male I'm amazed. At 15 years of age this guy has no visible primaries anywhere......seriously!! This is what we should all be breeding for. Our first crias sired by Zephyrson were born in May 2018......both black females and they are stunning. Just what we expected.
Z was15 in April. We love what he has produced for us so far and we don't know how much longer he will be able to breed. We have a pretty long list of females to breed to him this spring.
Inquire about his availability.
Description
When I decided to breed Black Tie Affair to Bevo, Chris thought I had lost my mind. When Christine was born he actually admitted that it had been a good idea. This female is a well-built, solid girl with a beautiful fleece. Her medium fawn fleece is extremely dense with a high frequency crimp and wonderful staple length. Interestingly, we are seeing grey undertones in this fleece. This female's coloration is what is referred to as a fading fawn.
Christine recently delivered a beautiful fawn male sired by Greytness. Chopper is a solid male in every aspect. His conformation is solid and correct. His fleece is dense and fine with beautiful brightness and structure and amazing staple length. He was on our spring 2018 showstring and has been sold as a herdsire.
Christine was recently bred to Zephyrson for her 2020 cria.
