Skyline's Sophia
Huacaya, Female, Proven | Light Brown
ARI# 31973250, D.O.B. 5/18/2010, 3/4 Peruvian, 1/4 Chilean
Sire: Snowmass Nova's Nuance ARI#
840847 Bay Black Nuance is an "incredible Incan Black Male from a Royal Line of Elite Fibered Alpacas in Color" from the Snowmass breeding program. Incan Magic, one of Nuance's Grandsires, has a strong history of holding fineness even with age. Incan Magic's dam remains an amazing 16 microns at 9 years of age. Nuance’s Dam, Incan Surprise, has exhibited the same fiber attributes. His sire, Snowmass Nova, has been a multiple champion and is an excellent producer. Nova sold at the Snowmass “The Making of Champions” auction in Feb. '06 for $335,000. Nuance’s pedigree of predicable fiber characteristics and award winning genetics are what we have been striving for in our breeding program. We have bred him to a number of our award-winning females and excitedly look forward to his offspring each year. Nova's Nuance is co-owned with ALPACAS of Tualatin Valley. Visit our
website for the most up-to-date information and to view his cria.
Dam: Skyline Alpacas Gabriella ARI#
1430431 Medium Fawn For her last cria for us she gave us a beautiful brown female. Gabriella has been one of our favorite females but at 13 years of age we decided to sell her in order to make room for the next generation. I'm sad as I love Gabriella, but we need to reduce our numbers. She is going to a good home!
One of the best females born on our farm and is producing awesome cria.
Gabriella, is a winner too. She is one of our best producing females, and she was a Reserve Color Champion at AWE 2005, competing against some of the best-known farms in the nation. Gabriella is sired by PCA Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus, while her mother is a Microsoft daughter and Camilio granddaughter.
Service Sire: ATV Silver Elation_deleted_7/12/2023 6:42:37 PM ARI#
31118149 Light Silver Grey Due Date: 6/10/2018 One of Silver Elation’s yearling daughters, Sheer Heaven, achieved Grey Color Champion at the 2021 Alpaca Western Extravaganza show! Also one of his Juvenile daughters got a 2nd place in the Juv. Light Silver Grey class at the same show. Also previously many of his offspring have won blue ribbons and championships.
Silver Elation is a rare dilute silver gray with an incredibly soft, well bundled and consistent fleece without any spots. This male was born with a distinct Classic Silver Gray pattern which all but disappeared as his fiber dried. Every person who has seen him has been impressed by this amazing fleece that appears platinum in color with white in the neck, bib, face and legs.
When we took him to two very competitive shows in 2008, he was put into an indefinite class which did not allow him to show appropriately but he still won the Blue Ribbons.
Originally, I Proudly Co-Owned him with ALPACAS of Tualatin Valley! But now I completely own Silver Elation. You will get full ownership of him with this purchase!
Many of Silver Elation’s cria , have won 1st place and Gunsmoke won 1st and Reserve Color Champ at Alpacapalooza 2012 as did Sheer Heaven in 2021.at AWE.
As much as we really love Silver Elation, we do need to downsize our herd. He will be a great addition to your herd.
Oh and some sad news! Which is why I’ve reduced his cost! His knee on his back leg is hurting him and the vet that saw him thought that he could be repaired with a surgery at Oregon State vet hospital! He still has wonderful fleece so that way the $100 price is OK. If you purchase him and get his leg repaired he likely could be a good male again but I’m not completely sure! But for only $100 he is worth that for his fleece! Hope someone is interested in purchasing him! Only reason I’m willing to sell him is I have one of his wonderful males, Palladium! So I will get to keep his genetics!
Description
Ok, this year, 2017, Sophia delivered an awesome Light Silver Grey girl sired by Silver Elation. No doubt about it definitely a light Silver Grey. Awesome is the appropriate adjective. We are keeping this girl but Sophia now sells rebred to Silver Elation as this little girl is so amazing and you could get the repeat!
Sophia is listed here individually, but she is also available in our special Foundation Female package: CLICK HERE to view this outstanding package!. Or view our Make Your Own Pregnant Female Package, CLICK HERE to view this outstanding package!
Skyline’s Sophia was another one of our stars in the 2010 cria season. We named her Sophia after Sophia Loren because of her mesmerizing eyes. We were captured by Sophia--her presence, her style and of course her fleece. No surprise here, as she is the product of two of the best on our farm. Her Dam, Gabriella, is our Reserve Color Champion Nautilus daughter that continues to produce some of our best cria. At 7 years of age, Gabriella still has a 23.5 AFD and 17.8 CV! Sophia's sire is Snowmass Nova’s Nuance who has produced many outstanding cria for us including Choco-Latte. She sold at the AOBA auction for 27K and went on to win a color championship for her new owners.
Sophia’s fleece is dense and has a high frequency crimp just like her Dam’s. She also is bright and has impressive fineness… 18.4 AFD on her 2011 histogram. She has great conformation and is very easy to work with. She is the all around complete package. Just look, her 2013 histogram is 20.3 AFD, 4.2 SD, 20.8 CV, & 2.7 % 30u.
Sophia is yet another female we would really like to keep but we just have to reduce the number of females on our farm. We will be keeping her gorgeous 2013 Cisco Kid female cria in our program as well as her current 2017 cria, so we will have a piece of Sophia going forward! You won’t be disappointed with this purchase.
