Sire: McGwire ARI#
804966 Light Rose Grey, Med McGwire is clearly one of the richest colored full Accoyo males in the United States. Sired by Accoyo Victor, whose fleece and offspring are Legendary, he glows like a light is shining from inside his fleece. His density and staple length pull together for some of the most magnificent fleece weights on record (14.5 lbs--he is shorn every six months now). At age six, his CV is 16.2, micron 24 with an absence of guard hair. With over 30 cria, he is throwing silver and rose grey out of solid dams, many black cria, and often darkens the dams color. The crimp, bundling and shine is profound.
Dam: Venturo's Lola ARI#
30421424 True Black Black Color Champion Venturo’s Lola is another one of our outstanding production females that we have decided to list for sale as we work towards downsizing our operation. Lola has an exceptionally soft handled fleece that is extremely bright, something one doesn’t see often in Black alpacas. She has also maintained fineness over the years exhibiting a 21.0 AFD at 5 years of age.
Lola has produced some equally impressive cria as well, this year an outstanding female out of Hot Scot. She has also produced a Med. Silver Grey male out of McGwire, and a Dark Brown male out of Phoenix. All these crias have been real winners.
Because Lola did give us a grey when bred to grey, for her 2013 cria we have bred her to our 10X Color Champion stud, Donato.
Lola's current owner is Rain Creek Farms.
Description
North Star is a striking Medium Silver Grey male with exceptional fleece and pedigree. North Star’s Sire is the famous, full Accoyo Rose Grey, McGwire, now deceased. McGwire sired many wonder offspring during his day, including Emerald Farms Orlando Cloud. North Star’s Dam is our Black Color Champion Ventura’s Lola. Lola, at 5 years of age, still has a 21.0 AFD fleece with a soft velvety handle.
North Star has inherited fine fleece characteristics from both his parents. His fleece is dense and uniform. He exhibits a well-defined crimp as well as brightness and excellent staple length. North Star is also conformationally strong and has a proud stance in the pasture. This is a male we would like to keep, but we had many grey boys in 2010 and we can’t keep them all. He is sure to be a great addition to your breeding program.
