Bright White!
LHSA Vanora
Suri, Female, Unproven | White
ARI# 31554169, D.O.B. 6/4/2010, 7/8 Peruvian
Sire: LHSA Lucas - Deceased ARI#
30387737 White Lucas passed away March 2023 of natural causes. He has been a beloved herdsire and one of LHSA first cria's. His presence will be missed among our herd.
LHSA Lucas is a gentle male like his sire Crown Royale's White Knight. Dense, and 18 microns! His dam is out of Papacito & Penelope. She is half sister to Admirals Commander. Lucas is at least 1/4 Accoyo & full Peruvian. On May 24, 2009 we sheared Lucas for the 3rd time. He sheared a prime blanket of 4-1/2 lbs with an additional 3/4lb of 2nds that look exactly like his prime blanket. LHSA continues to produce 3-4 pounds quality fiber each shearing. Luster, Lock, and Density. Perfect score!
Based on the Suri Network SHIP program, Lucas scored 4.77 out of a possible 5. Strong on lock, luster and a perfect 5 on confirmation categories.
Lucas was biopsied as a 6-year-old and his density is 50.5 per sq mm and s/p ratio is 10.5 to 1. He shows a level 4 of 4 glands present and only 10% of his secondary fibers show medulation. 100 secondary fibers average 17.8 micron, while 50 primary fibers average 32.1 with a spread of 14.3.
Lucas is in the top 15% EPDs.
How it Works
• Buy any alpaca from Long Hollow Suri Alpacas
• After every shearing, send the fleece to New Era Fiber
• Indicate that the animal was bought from Long Hollow Suri Alpacas – Advise us how you want the fleece processed
• We will process the fleece and send you back the product (yarn, roving, etc.)
We provide this benefit to ensure the economic viability of the animals we sell for their lifespan. This program allows our customers to earn money to care for and potentially make a profit on the alpacas we sell to you.
Dam: Luminoso's Estralita ARI#
88298283 White Luminoso's Estralita has Accoyo Barron & PPeruvian Angel as grandsires. She has a large, well balanced frame with fiber that will dye well. While we have predominately kept Estralita as a fiber producing animal, she was a great dam to her cria LHSA Vanora.
Loaded with fine fleece and locks she deserves her name's translation "Shining Star" . Her PPeruvian Angel genetics could mean with the right breeding, she could easily throw color.
Her 1st cria, 'Vanora', is a glow in the dark, lustrous white girl out of our own LHSA Lucas!
Estralita is inquisitive and always the first at the gate in the mornings. Although she stands tall and averages 190 -200 pounds, she catches easily and is halter broken. She walks willing across our scales once per month during herd health.
Description
LHSA Vanora is our lustrous WHITE daughter of LHSA Lucas. If you have considered adding bright white to your herd, LHSA Vanora would be an excellent addition for any farm. She has a large, well balanced frame with fiber that will dye well. While we have predominately kept Vanora as a fiber producing animal, she could still be added to a breeding program for beautiful whites.
Vanora was our 3rd LHSA Lucas cria and like her two brothers she is solid, strong, healthy, and VERY WHITE! Bright as the sun on a clear day!
Vanora's fleece is abundant and glowing with luster, showing that she indeed is carrying on the genetics of Crown Royales White Knight, 4peruvian Papactio, Accoyo Baron’s Luminoso, and Pperuvian Angel… all of whom are in her line.

A word about the health practices at Long Hollow Suri Alpacas… We take the health of our herd seriously.
• All alpacas are vaccinated annually, and bred females are vaccinated 30-60 days prior to birth of their cria.
• Fecal flotations are performed on EACH individual alpaca monthly and treatment is completed on a per alpaca basis.
• All alpacas receive monthly injections as a precaution against meningeal worm.
• Bred females receive a minimum of 3 ultrasounds performed onsite by a veterinarian and our veterinary technician.
We interact daily with all our animals to ensure any medical needs are addressed as needed and this improves their socialization.
