Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber.
Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece:
Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10.
His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals.
Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits.
Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey.

Dam: Kentucky Criations Heaven Lee ARI#
1145502 True Black Sent from above, Heaven Lee is a perfectly conformed beautiful True Black alpaca. From her gorgeous typey head, to the tips of her heavily boned and fleeced toes this Patagonia Compadre daughter carries a rich black fleece that most alpacas only wish for. Her fleece exhibits high amplitude and medium frequency with a distinct curl to each crimp. Heaven Lee's fleece has an extremely soft hand, good density, great lock definition and is very bright.
Heaven Lee has been one of our outstanding black production females giving us 4 impressive cria, 3 females and a male. Her first is our stunning Avatar daughter, then she gave us a blue ribbon-winner Giovanni son, then a daughter and this year another stunning daughter sired by our premier herdsire, Accoyo America Phoenix. We kept Heaven Lee open this fall to put her into a spring birth rotation. I’m not anxious to sell Heaven Lee as we like her offspring but we need to make room for our upcoming maidens and can’t increase our herd size any further. Our loss will be your gain!

30852877 Medium Brown Due Date: 5/31/2011 This young man, Chicago, is an impressive Med. Fawn Grandson of El Nino on his Dams side, and Nova on his Sire’s side. Chicago has presence galore, and an awesome head. His fleece is equally impressive maintaining a 19.1 AFD at three years of age. When you see Chicago in the male pasture, visitors always want to know who that macho is. What we also like about Chicago is his great bone density, coverage, and his easy-going personality. Chicago is one of our up and coming new herdsires that we are anxious to see his first cria. We think we will be very pleased!

Avatar daughter, Dharma, is an appealing Mahogany female who has “That Look” -- a beautiful teddy-bear head, well-formed top-knot, and good bone density, plus a consistent soft handled fleece. Her dam is Heaven Lee, a True Black, who’s been a great producer on our farm and is a Compadre daughter. Dharma’s famous Rose Grey Herdsire, Avatar, is known for consistently producing quality offspring that are high selling auction entries. Dharma couldn’t go wrong with that as her background! Her fleece continues to have a buttery texture, not surprising with a CV of 19.7 at 3 years of age.
We have bred this type-y female to one of our up and coming herdsires, Chicago. He not only has impressive genetics, but also has a presence that can’t be ignored! Chicago is a Nuance son and a Nova grandson -- Casanova Great Grandson. Chicago’s dam is an El Nino daughter and his Grandmother is a Rose Grey, Camilio daughter. Chicago also claims an impressive 3-year-old histogram with an AFD of 19.1. With this breeding we are hoping to tap into the Grey in both of these animals’ backgrounds, as well as their lasting fleece qualities.
