MFI Peruvian Precocious daughter!
CCNF Glacious
Huacaya, Female, Proven | White
ARI# 31425766, D.O.B. 7/9/2010,
Sire: MFI Peruvian Precocious ARI#
30934542 White The son of Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah (2008 AND 2009 Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year) and a multi Champion dam, NWA, LTD Precious (a 4Peruvian Pacachuti daughter), Precocious brings two very important things with him to the table as far as we are concerned here at Cas-Cad-Nac. First and foremost is his quality. His fleece represents everything we love in a truly great alpaca: fineness, brightness, amazing density, uniformity throughout, and an outrageous staple length. Secondly is the simple fact that with the exception of his paternal sister, Johanna, he was completely unrelated to the rest of our production herd at the time he joined our breeding program. Can you say puzzle piece?!
Having worked with Magical Farms off and on over the past years we had always been on the lookout to do something together so when this opportunity presented itself (and frankly after Precocious spanked us in the show ring yet again) we jumped at it. Precocious is currently standing at stud in Ohio but returns here to CCNF in early July of each year for a 6 month holiday.
The first crop of Precocious kids born here throughout 2010 were in a word: dynamic. It is not by chance that two of them, brothers Tenacious and Invictus, joined their sire at the CCNF Stud Barn as working Herdsires in their own right in 2012. Nor that with only seven of his progeny from CCNF representing him, that Precocious was awarded Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year at the 2012 Futurity!
Dam: MMR Nieva ARI#
831134 White Daughter of famous Aussie/Peruvian/Canadian Herdsire, Jolimont Alpamayo...
Service Sire: Snowmass Sub-Zero ARI#
850316 White Due Date: 8/21/2014 Having admired his offspring for many years now, we were thrilled to acquire half of Sub-Zero from our friends at Tripping Gnome Farm late last year! To us, Sub represents yet another layer of genetic depth that we can now cross in aggressively with the progeny of Archangel, Messiah, SuperNova, Precocious, and Elite Legend.
The lingering fineness in a fleece that is both dense, bright, and uniform makes him a very valuable puzzle piece to CCNF in our continuing goal to push the development of North American alpaca fiber to yet another level. If you need further evidence of Sub-Zero's greatness, we invite folks attending the spring shows this coming April to come and see his medium fawn son, TGF Legit, a young junior Herdsire whom we likewise pried from the hands of our friends in Freeport and whom we also have very high hopes for going forward.
We are proud to co own Snowmass Sub-Zero with Lynn Edens of Little Creek Farm Alpacas in North Salem, NY! Though no formal schedule has been set, Sub will be spending his time more or less split between the farms of his two owners this coming breeding season. We are happy to try to accommodate outside breedings, so please inquire with either farm as to his schedule if you are interested in breeding to this incredible Herdsire!
Description
Things that do indeed make you go hmm. Glacious is the latest female born out of one our powerful Aussie/Peruvian females, Nieva. Her eldest maternal sister, Nazca, is entrenched here in the white foundation herd and her two other female siblings (Snow Angell and Angel Wing) were wisely snapped up in the last two National Elite auctions. Of course it takes two to tango and it is from her famous sire, Precocious (whom we proudly co-own with Magical Farms!) that Glacious is displaying her outrageous staple length and density. Glacious is in fact the first Precocious daughter that we have ever listed for sale (as well as one of the first born here) and like all of our maiden females is sold with full reproductive guarantees.
Glacious was bred last year to 3-time Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Elite Legend, and just gave birth to a beautiful little white female on Labor Day weekend! For the time being she will sell with her daughter at side and will be bred back later in September. We will update her reproductive status as things progress!
