Sire: Patagonia's Giovanni ARI#
842938 Dark Rose Grey Skyline Alpacas is proud to present our premier herdsire, Patagonia’s Giovanni. Giovanni represents the finest example of Alpacas de la Patagonia’s breeding program. He is sired by PATAGONIA'S NISHIO the 2001 AOBA Black Champion, 2004 AAF Herdsire of the year, and 2005 AOBA Get-of-Sire winner. BUT, Giovanni has his own impressive two-year show record as well. Giovanni is Dark Rose Grey with a fleece rich in color, character, and density. Giovanni’s first crias have arrived, oh what beauties they are!
This is your opportunity to add quality, award-winning genetics to your herd. And of course check our website, skylinealpacas.com for all the latest information.
Dam: Patagonia's Chilena ARI#
831292 Light Silver Grey Chilena is a striking light silver-grey dam, with a very fine fleece and beautiful head. The judges thought so too as she was the 2002 AOBA National Grey Color Champion. Her 2003 histogram at nearly 2 years of age was 19.2m: 4.4m S.D.: 23.0% C.V.: 3.2%>30. We were very excited to purchase this award winning grey from Patagonia. Her notable awards are: 1st place All-American Futurity 2002, and 1st place and Grey Female Champion AOBA 2002. Chilena has produced 3 outstanding grey crias for us, and we only hope for more.
Sadly, Chilena passed away this summer from an an aneurism, which means Quito, and his siblings are the end of the line for this fabulous female...
Description
Quito is a very impressive LSG male that has so much to offer your breeding program. Quito comes from TWO champion parents and sports a spectacular head, substantial bone density, dense fiber, incredible staple length, and fineness. This shouldn’t be any surprise as his dam, Chilena, was one of our best foundation females. She produced four outstanding grey cria for us before her passing… such a big loss to our farm. His sire is Patagonia’s Giovanni our premier DRG herdsire who has been putting some awesome cria on the ground – mostly greys and blacks.
Quito was shown in his juvenile year placing 2nd in the highly competitive class of Greys at Alpacapalooza. He did well in his yearling year as well at the 2009 CABA Classic placing third behind Donato, an Adonnis son, and a male out of the Snowmass program. Tim Lavan commented about his mature size, length of staple, and brightness of fleece.
He is an impressive boy! Besides that, he has a gentle nature making him very easy to work with. Quito's first cria was born last summer and is a stunning Classic Silver Grey out of a Brown Dam, and our clients couldn't have been happier! We hate to let Quito go, but we have Silver Prancer, a half brother who is also giving us outstanding cria.
