Skyline's Mocha-Latte
Huacaya, Female, Proven | Medium Brown
ARI# 31613255, D.O.B. 6/27/2009, 3/4 Peruvian, 1/4 Chilean
Sire: Skyline's Guinness ARI#
30852754 Dark Silver Grey Skyline’s Guinness is, just simply put, one of my favorite crias from the 2006 crop. He has a compact correct conformation, with a beautiful head and striking eyes. He is a 2x Blue Ribbon winner as his fleece is outstanding --dense, bright, and fine with a nice high frequency crimp. His May 2007 histogram was 15.7 AFD, 3.1 SD, 19.8 CV and 0.4 %>30u. Plus, Guinness has maintained his fineness over the years acheiving a 2010 histogram of 18.9 AFD, 4.3 SD, 22.9 CV and 1.8 %>30u. Guinness' outstanding fleece impressed the judges as well. In 2007 Guinness has shown in both Dark Silver Grey, placing 2nd at Alpacapalooza, and in Indefinite Dark winning a 1st at Western Alpaca Extravaganza, and a 5th at The Futurity and finishing his Juvenile season with a Blue Ribbon at AOBA Nationals.
Guinness' show career was no surprise to us given his impressive genetics. Both his parents have produced many ribbon winning cria. His Dam, My Peruvian Axial, is a Full Peruvian Black Dam sired by 4Peruvian Matador, and his Sire is our outstanding Bay Black Nova son, Snowmass Nova’s Nuance. Guinness' ability to hold fineness at 4 years of age is just one indicator of these quality genetics. We expect he will pass this trait on to his offspring as well.
His first cria arrived in 2009, and she is a real beauty, Med. Brown with a white face and tuxedo front, out of a white dam. Mocha-Latte has a dense, fine fleece that has brightness as well. We expect Guinness will continue to throw cria of this quality for you. If your breeding for Black and Grey, you just can't go wrong with this young herdsire.
Dam: El Nino's Clarita ARI#
836842 White Clarita is our first home raised girl, and what a beauty. The daughter of El Nino, and granddaughter of Camilio, she has all the right genetics. She is a charmer, and was a wonderful first cria. We didn’t show Clarita her first year, as we were so new in the business. But on her way back east to be bred, the Lavans, of Chase Tavern Farms offered to show her at MAPACA, where she got 4th in a very large (14) class of yearling white females. Clarita now has produced three spectacular daughters for us and is one of our best production females on the farm. Clarita’s 1st cria Valencia has an awesome fleece with amazing density and brightness and a histogram at 11 months of 16.9 AFD; 3.2 SD; 18.3 CV; & 0.7 %>30u. Her sire is full Peruvian Greybeard so we are hoping for some grey cria from her! Clarita’s 2nd cria, Choco-latte was equally spectacular selling for $27,000 at the 2007 AOBA auction. We were so pleased with Choco-latte we rebred Clarita to Snowmass Nova’s Nuance for her 200
Service Sire: Skyline's Questar ARI#
31973373 Light Silver Grey Due Date: 6/14/2013 Ok, he is amazing. He has the "complete" look, he is VERY dense and he has an outstanding fleece, shearing 10.48 # in 2012 and an AFD of 19.0 in 2011.
We had 4 Adonnis boys born on our farm in 2010 (yes, all boys!) and this boy was the top of the class. That wasn't a surprise as his Dam is a spectacular TB Absolute daughter. We had a number of breeders wanting to purchase Questar when he was young, but we declined. We have a lot of his genetics on our farm but he is worth keeping and breeding to our females.
OK, We've done that and have some amazing cria from him, but we need to cut down on the breeding boys and since we have his 1/2 brother Donato, we've now decided to offer Questar for sale. You won't be disappointed in this proven male! Check out his adorable daughter, Intrigue, see picture. A real sweety.
Description
Mocha-Latte is one of our special 2009 gals. Her Dam, Clarita, is an El Nino daughter out of a Rose Grey Camilio daughter, and Mocha-Latte’s sire is Guinness our 2x blue ribbon winning Nuance son. Mocha-Latte is a rich Brown/Dark Rose Grey color, and looks much like her Rose Grey Grandmother. Her base color is Brown and she has light Rose Grey spots in her blanket. As she matures, the Rose Grey is developing in the rest of her blanket. She has soft, fine fleece, 19.1 AFD -2010, 20.7 AFD -2011, and exhibits a medium frequency crimp style. She also carries great density, and has good coverage all the way down her legs.
Mocha-Latte just delivered the most beautiful Rose Grey girl! Oh we are so happy. We are now offering Mocha-Latte for sale bred to Questar, one of our up and coming herdsires. Included in her sale is free board until she weans her cria which we plan to keep!
