Sire: Captain Nemo ARI#
849790 Dark Rose Grey We love Nemo. We all love Nemo, from our partners the Sweeney's at Celtic Criations to all who come to our farm. He is proud, he is stately, he is charming and he truly may be one of the smartest alpacas I have ever met. He definitely knows that he is king over his world, he controls his herd, and they all are much better behaved with Nemo around.
Nemo has many wonderful traits that he passes onto his progeny, from incredible conformation, exquisite fineness, lovely crimp, and excellent density. He stamps them - and you can always tell a Nemo cria. Don't get me wrong - they aren't cookie cutters. They are distinct and they have an attitude and a presence that is recognizable to all of us. And he also passes on his great temperment and his intelligence. You know the saying that alpacas don't challenge fences? Well someone forgot to tell Nemo. He challenges them all. We swear he knows how to pick locks. He knows how to escape from any fence, gate, paddock, or arena around. I have seen him shimmy under a fence - like a marine crawling under fencing in boot camp. And he has taught his sons. And this is because he has a one track mind - girls.
Here's a story: One late night Nemo decided it was time for a panty raid. And at 1am in the morning, he pried open a gate, he broke out of "camp"; and led 12 very very happy males over to the girls barn. The girls were thrilled, the boys were thrilled, perhaps I wasn't as thrilled......I had to get them all back. I know he was the instigator because i saw him do it. But to his credit, he also helped me corral one of the most indignant boys and get him haltered and led back down to the boys barn. Nemo pranced back to the boys barn, as proud as could be.
Ever since that night Nemo has been my buddy.
Nemo has many fine attributes other than being a girl loving escape artist. Nemo is as rare as they come... Full Peruvian, solid dark rose grey!!! This male has it all...color, fineness, crimp, charisma, presence, and atti
Dam: Thompson Hollow Miss Marilyn ARI#
814350 Light Fawn Miss Marilyn is a classic Accoyo looking Peruvian Huacaya. Marilyn's grandsire is Royal Fawn and her sire is Kenamori Gold, both males of distinction. If you look at a picture of Royal Fawn, Marilyn is his "spitting image"! :-) Marilyn is only part Accoyo though - I don't want to mislead you!
Marilyn is a large, square female. She produces well-covered, conformationally correct, square crias.
Miss Marilyn has won 2 Blue Ribbons on halter, Best Owned and Bred and a 3rd place ribbon AOBA National Spinoff, 2003.
Marilyn has given us excellent cria time and time again. We are always amazed at her girls and boys. and though she is up there now in age - she continues to look like a young girl. Marilyn's temperment is quite good too. When she first came here - she didn't like it. I guess it's home to her now!! Well it should be after all this time.
take a look at Barberella her daughter and her new grand daughter - Concordia!!! lovely lovely lovely!
Description
Rosehaven's Peruvian Lady Nema is a cross between two wonderful lines: Captain Nemos (from Santana and Dom Timbo) and Thompson Hollow Miss Marilyn (Kenamori gold and Royal Fawn genetics).
Lady Nema did quite well in her shows. She has gone in many different color categories including bay black, dark brown, dark rose grey to an indefinite. We will take them all! She took a blue ribbon at AFCNA for her fleece, another blue at PAOBA in halter, and much more! This beauty is a winner, never failing to earn a ribbon. We couldn't be more impressed!
Lady Nema has gone on to have 3 beautiful progeny. Lady Centaura out of Lancaster's Silver Centaur, Shadow a true Black male and Bandolero out of our golden Matt. She is a true beauty that has held her fineness.
