18 MICRON AT 5 YEARS OLD!!!, with 59 Curve!

AROSA = Full Fiber Histogram Disclosure please shop and compare!

Her first cria, Prospector, very dense, with high frequency crimp and an 19 micron with 17 CV and 99.6% comfort factor.Mist's 2nd cria, Mystical Maiden, is a fawn female! Super Dense and a 17.49 Micron!

When we looked at Maid of the Mist's pedigree it got our attention. When we looked at her fleece it validated her pedigree. An accidental breeding, in effect, produced a line bred offspring (Maid of Mist) from one of the rarest and elite bloodlines in the country, Misty Maiden. Her sire is SCA Peruvian Magnum, a Misty Maiden/Per.Camelot son. Her dam is Peruvian MistyRose, a Misty Maiden/Accoyo Avenger daughter.

There is a good reason why Mist has produced such an outstanding award winning son(Prospector was sold at 8 months old). Genetically speaking, she is a Misty Maiden daughter.

For those of you unfamilar with Misty Maiden fame, click on our Miss Priss page, and read all about her sibling's accomplishments. The more we see of our Miss Priss's bloodline , the more we are amazed at how dominant these genetics are: Super fine (16 micron) fiber, with incredible bundling of super defined lustrous crimp. Then to top it all off, This bloodline is incredibly dense.

Mist's microns have been 16 & 18 her first 2 years. And she exhibits some very nice high frequency crimp as well.
She is bred to our own incredible boy Shazzam for an 08 Spring cria.

Mary Goodman of Mary's Alpacas made the statement that Maid of the Mist "is the densest animal on my farm". Mary has some incredible bloodlines(Caligula) on her farm as most of you know.
Like most breeders with Misty Maiden bloodlines on their farm, they Know these alpacas are usually some of the densest animals on their farm ....not to mention the finest too! Alpaca Geneticist, Andy Merriweather, had these remarks on Maid of the Mist being line bred , "there is not a danger of breeding to a line-bred animal. If it is not defective, it is not defective, PERIOD. Line bred animals are not secretly defective, nor are they hiding something bad that any other animal might have as well". ..."I would certainly have bought her myself...." . So, what we have here is genetically very similar to a Miss Priss sister! The Accoyo Ranch successfully enhanced its herd with such similar genetic breedings. Here in the states, our alpaca genetic base is so small, line breeding is risky business
