AOA National Fleece Champion
CCNF Triumvirate
Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | Dark Fawn
ARI# 35549413, D.O.B. 6/17/2019,
Sire: CCNF Elixir ARI#
32314304 Beige Meet the reigning crown prince of CCNF. Show record aside, at the time he was born, Elixir was probably the best male alpaca our breeding program had produced in 16 years. Good thing too, as he and his paternal siblings had some mighty big shoes that we were asking them to fill in the years ahead. The son of three time Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Elite Legend, and our multi-Champion Archangel daughter, CCNF Ascension, Elixir when conceived as a concept on paper was supposed to be good. We just had no idea that the stars were going to align quite as nicely as they did. The fleece fineness and phenotype of his maternal line combined with the other-worldly density and uniformity he got from his sire are virtually unmatched here at Cas-Cad-Nac Farm.
The 2015 AOA National Fleece Show essentially turned into Elixir's official coming out party as a proven Herdsire. He not only won the Champion Light Male and Judges' Choice Huacaya Male himself but more importantly, four of his offspring (CCNF Spittfire, CCNF Dropshot, CCNF Antares, and CCNF True Adoration) won Championship banners as well, leading to a championship sweep of both the Light and White Male color groups. Not too shabby for his first batch of kids. Since that time of course, the Elixir kids have been front and center in our show strings producing among other accolades, back to back Futurity Herdsire of the Year awards in both 2017 and 2018.
Of course one of the things we love about our boy, is that he can be bred to both light and dark females with equally exciting outcomes (Elixir is a classic dorsal beige). He continues to throw everything from whites to browns, all extremely bright and fine. If you have any doubts as to the prowess of this world-class Herdsire, you need only spend 10 minutes or so walking down the line of our show pens any spring or fall. The proof is most definitely in the progeny...
Elixir stands at stud here at CCNF from July 1st through October 1st before moving back to our partners' farm in Maryland for the fall season. As of July 1st, 2016 CCNF Elixir was closed for all future outside stud service. You can both look for his offspring in our sales listings though as well as a select number of females who are offered for sale already bred to him.
Dam: CCNF Luna Majesty ARI#
35238607 Light Brown The Dam of Champions and one of 3 daughters (along with her older sister, Moonbeam, and younger sister, Clair de Lune) of Snowmass Matrix Majesty and CCNF Moonlight we have in the CCNF foundation herd.
Description
As his name makes reference to, CCNF Triumvirate was the 3rd of 4 full siblings produced by the breeding of CCNF Luna Majesty and CCNF Elixir. Though all 4 born thus far have been a little different from one another, the first 3 of them: Sovereign-Legacy, Nymeria, and Triumvirate all have the distinction of winning their respective color Championships at either the AOA National Fleece or Halter Show. Not too shabby. That is a record of proven quality production that not even Luna's great aunt, the mighty CCNF Magdalena, can lay claim to. The youngest brother, Lunar Quartet, who no doubt would have been a front-line show animal for us in the coming months had he stuck around, was instead whisked away by Braveheart Alpacas and is making his way to Germany now, where he will begin life as a working Herdsire.
Though Triumvirate's oldest brother, CCNF Sovereign-Legacy, is nowadays a proven working Herdsire here in our program as well with multiple offspring already on the ground, we have chosen strategically at the present time, to treat the two brothers as one Herdsire, with each bringing slightly different qualities to the table. With Triumvirate's announcing his presence via a confirmed live pregnancy off of his very first breeding -- done a week shy of his 2nd birthday, no less -- we were able to use him multiple times this summer here internally.
The funny thing of course is that because of the Covid pandemic's arrival in the spring of 2020, Tri had never seen a show ring until October 2021 and was therefore relatively unknown -- already well into his 3rd year of existence -- when we made our first appearance in a halter ring in almost 24 months: the result as the picture above shows, was Triumvirate convincingly winning both the Fawn Male Championship and Judges's Choice Huacay Male in both the NEAOBA and Empire shows. Already the Fawn Male Champion from the 2021 AOA National Fleece Show, we hope to have him as a member of our show team in the all-important spring of 2022 season as well. We will stress over that which we can control though. For now, Triumvirate will continue to work here internally in our breeding program, while being offered on a limited basis for outside stud services.
