Northern Mystery's Erasmus
Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven | White
ARI# 32842487, D.O.B. 7/4/2017,
Sire: BR Rum's Bocelli ARI#
32745429 Light Fawn To say that Bocelli holds a special place in my heart would be an understatement. He was produced by Ernie and Denise Gamroth at Battle River Alpacas, and his quality is a testament to their breeding program. His sire is Hummingherd's Rum Runner, a PC Running Late son; and his dam is BR Belicia, out of RGA Miguel and Monterra's Bellana, well known champion and champion producers in Canada.
Bocelli is a well put together male who displays an attractive, true to type head style. Judges have always remarked on the high degree of brightness and organization in Bocelli's fleece, its length, and the character that carries throughout from topknot to tail. He continues to maintain a very fine and dense fleece overall. He has produced several silky-fleeced cria to date (his pedigree includes several notable silky producers), with many of Bocelli's offspring displaying above average staple lengths across the blanket and into the neck, in addition to uniformity in micron, style and organization across the blanket. His cria can be identified day or night by their outstanding lustre alone.
Having been tested on a range of females, he has proven himself to be a reliable complement to every pairing in passing along his traits without sacrificing colour. To date, all but one of his cria have been the same colour, or darker than their dams. His extremely mild, sociable personality makes him wonderful to work with and be around, alongside his offspring who share his good nature.
Dam: ECA Roxcene ARI#
31534253 White Roxcene is an extremely dense female with a feminine air about her. Even into her breeding years she is maintaining positive fleece traits. She is perhaps the densest animal on the farm, with highly organized, high frequency, high amplitude crimp. We have no doubt that if we were to start showing her again, she'd not only hold her own in her classes, she'd excel.
She is a friendly girl with a very curious, easy going temperament. She is also a fantastic dam, who is very attentive to her cria. We quite like her genetics, as she has both Rockamundo and Victor's Vaccoyo in her pedigree. We have found our Rockamundo granddaughters to be absolutely excellent in terms of maintaining positive fleece traits, and we hope that these qualities are passed onto their offspring. For Roxcene, seeing the calibur of cria she has provided us this far, we have no doubt that she will continue to do just that. She gave us a fantastic silky-type male in 2017 from our Supreme Champion male Bocelli, so we are excited to see what they produce in 2020 with a repeated pairing!
Description
We knew the moment he hit the ground that Erasmus was going to be everything we could have hoped from pairing Roxcene with Bocelli. He displays both parents stellar temperaments, as well as a fantastic fleece and phenotype.
Covered from head to toe in crimpy white fleece, Erasmus' displays his sire's lustre, length and crimp style, paired with Roxcene's density and organization, producing bundles of just fine, silky soft fleece that we are excited to work with.
Much like Bocelli, Erasmus seems to be more of a medium built animal with a lovely head style. He is square in his stance and quite compact overall, very much like his dam in this regard. He is a very alert animal with an upright head carriage, and an excellent disposition overall.
Erasmus is extremely easy going and sociable, just like his parents. This boy will do anything you ask of him willingly, quietly and without hesitation. He hasn't a single cross bone in his body, making him an absolute joy to work with both on and off lead.
