Dam: BR Rum's Angelica ARI#
32378016 Dark Fawn Angelica is an absolutely stunning female with a quiet disposition. This little girl is half sister to our award winning Bocelli, and frankly she is one of the nicest females we've ever had the pleasure of working with.
Another Rum Runner daughter, Angelica is out of a beautiful fawn dam, Bellana's Angel, who enjoyed a highly successful show career with a Supreme Championship and numerous firsts to her name. Angel, like Rum, is graced with a list of progeny who all carry on her good fortune in the ring.
Angelica herself is a rich, coffee and cream coloured fawn with dark points and a grey nose. The length of her fibre is impressive, as she maintains a long, yet consistent staple length. She is dense, with almost blinding lustre when you open up her fleece. She is very consistent, from her topline to her belly, and into the leg. Her crimp style is beautiful, with a uniform high frequency crimp and an extremely soft handle.
Phenotypically, she has coverage everywhere, giving her a beautiful, full face and fluffy ears. She has a solid build, with good bone, excellent depth, and an alert carriage. She carries herself regally, and always stands beautifully. She is an eye-catcher both in and out of the ring for sure.
Much like her parents, she is easy to handle and mild tempered. She is very "chatty" and is quite content to let everyone know just how much so. She is always easy to catch and handle.
She is, like so many others from Battle River Alpacas, a testament to their awesome breeding program and husbandry techniques. We are honoured to have both Angelica and her Dam with us on the farm, and could never thank the Gamroth's enough for letting these guys call our farm their home.
Description
Hafaza is a robust male with an abundance of dense, crimpy fibre from head to toe. Compact, but upright in his frame, Hafaza is easily a contender for future herdsire, and we are excited to add his genetics to our herd.
The first one to greet you at the gate, and quite vociferous as to his opinions on things, this male combines Angelica's outstanding temperament and fleece with Velvetier's phenotype, and overall we are pleased with his development. To say we are excited about Hafaza's production potential would be an understatement. His 2019 fleece had an AFD of 13.5, with a Curve of 78.7 deg/mm. Those numbers are reflected in his 2020 EPD, with him coming in the top 0.77% in AFD, 0.83% in SF, 1.03% in MC, 2.25% in %F>30, 3.02% in %M, and finally top 3.56% in SDAFD.
So far he is displaying a very uniform, very fine fleece with a high frequency, medium amplitude crimp style and coverage from head to toe. He put on an excellent show this spring at the Futurity and Spring shows, earning very respectable 2nd and 3rd places in some highly competitive light classes!
