Description

Hunter is a promising male with a large frame and beautiful, rich colour. His fleece his rich and soft, with high amplitude crimp, and a good degree of density. His fibre is long and bright, and just beautiful to look at. He presently ranks in the top 15% of 2018 EPD's for fleece weight, and top 10% for staple length, which is further backed up by his consistently heavy shear weights, with his 2019 blanket weighing 10lbs (skirted) and his 2018 blanket weighing 9.8lbs (skirted).

Conformation-wise, Hunter maintains a masculine stance. He is wide in the chest, with solid bone structure. Straight legs, a balanced build, and a fluid gait make Hunter an eye catcher before you even have the chance to open his fleece. We aren't the only ones to notice, with judges consistently commenting positively about how strong his conformation is with one judge going so far as to state "I wish every male was built like this one" in 2012.

Genetically, Hunter has all the makings of an excellent colour producer. His sire, BB King O' The Hill (now standing at stud in Europe) was a well known producer of dark cria, and his dam Hiawatha similarly was a producer of some very lovely colour.
