31795807 White Snowmass Defiance is one of only a few outside males we have found worthy of incorporation into the Accoyo America white breeding program. His genetics combine the lasting fineness found in the Hemingway and Legacy lines with the low medullation for which the Elite line is particularly well known. His merino-style fleece is maintaining impeccable fineness, uniformity, and high curvature as he enters middle age, and he carries it on a strong frame with impressive substance of bone. We love his headstyle also. While we will use Defiance to diversify the bloodlines in our white breeding program, it is worth noting that he has produced color also, just like his well-known sire Elite Legend. Defiance is proudly co-owned with Snow Diamond Alpacas.
Dam: Grandioso's Serenade 275 ARI#
31561051 Beige Serenade comes from good stock: Her grandsire on her dam's side is Legacy, now deceased, whose progeny can be found in respected breeding programs all across the country. On the top side of her pedigree, Serenade has the venerable Royal Fawn; National Age and Color Champion, Royal Peruvian Apollo; and 6X Champion SA Peruvian Grandioso. That's quite a lineup.
Serenade has bright fleece with a heavenly hand and the consistency and lasting fineness that we all covet. Her first-year histogram showed an ADF of 15.8 microns, and at more than five years of age, her AFD was 21.2 (baby-grade) with a CV of just 16.3. She currently places in the top 1% of EPDs for SDAFD and %M, and the top 2.2% for %>30.
Serenade was the first female on our farm to produce a cria by the phenomenal Snowmass Defiance, and this young female is beautiful!
With her sweet, cooperative disposition and anything-goes attitude, Serenade is a joy to have on the farm.
Service Sire: Snow Diamond Chateau-Cerise ARI#
32731651 White Due Date: 1/30/2024 Snow Diamond Chateau Cerise is a Herd Sire who genetic picture is just what we utilize in our breeding. This boy will give more diversity to our already diverse genetics here at Colusa Riverside. Chateau is a package of genetics that include Matrix, Quechua, Accoyo Elite, and Legacy with a beginning lineage touch of Hemingway.
Chateau is as dense as they can come. He is in the 1% for fleece weight. He is fine and uniform in his fineness. Take a look at his EPD genetic picture and what he can produce in his offspring. He definitely has excellent EPDs across all fiber trait values. At age 10 years he is carrying a SL greater than 90 mm, and a CV of 15. We chose him because his genetics will improve every fiber trait in his offspring, in every single trait. in 2023 his fiber yield was 11 pounds. He will also improve density and fleece weight significantly. Take a look at his 2022 histogram and show record.
We recently had his offspring at the California Classic and Gold County Gathering, duel shows. They all placed particularly well in every showing. In walking fleece white and light his offspring got repeated positive comments from Judge Amanda regarding their long staple, beautiful handle and brightness.

CHECK OUT SAGE'S EPD PROFILE, some of the best for a reasonable price. We have several of her daughters so she is on the sales market. Sage is a Snowmass Defiance daughter. She comes from exceptional breed stock. We originally went to purchase her sister whose histogram and EPDs are exemplary, after seeing her we bought Sage without a histogram or EPD knowing what her sister had and the lineage of Sage. We were not disappointed. The purchase of Sage and Breeze from Snow Diamond was to integrate improvement in our herds AFDSD. Our goal is to have all animals below 4.0 and the higher goal of at or around 3.0. Both of these girls are in the 1% trait value for AFDSD.
Sage's fleece character traits are superior. She has a beautiful fine fleece with plenty of luster and soft handle. It is quite difficult to find any primary fibers and when you do they are mistaken for secondary fibers they are so fine. She is very dense, with an AFD of 21 micron at age 4, but an SD of 2.8. That is amazing uniformity.
Sage has excellent substance of bone and her phenotype shows good conformation. Take a look at her EPD profile. She is being bred to Chateau Cerise to improve her offspring staple length. One percent in SD is truly one EPD that is difficult to come by and even more difficult to breed for, so we are more than pleased with this young foundation dam. She will add some very desirable genetics potential into our herd in one breeding with this pairing.
