Ok, I see a couple of folks are looking hard at Indy....
1/2 INTEREST NOW AVAILABLE - SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE.
Kendall Creek Farms has a new acquisition for 2014, and we are very excited about the possibilities. This boy is absolutely Indescribable! His 4 Championships do not do him justice. His lingering fineness is just incredible and we feel that in his color, it is up there with the best. LMFI Jeremiah's Indescribable (Indy) is a boy that we were following for a few years while he was owned by Magical Farms. When we got the word about their retirement, the first male that we spoke to them about was Indescribable. He has the typey frame with spot on conformation. He has the fine fleece with fantastic handle and zipper crimp that we are looking for in our breeding program. And the fact that his parents have a combined 21 Championships in their resume' give us the confidence that greatness lay within.
2019 - Indy now has 24 registered offspring between 12 different farms and that is enough to generate a little statistics for you. Of the 24 cria, 23 are show age and 20 have been shown at halter. 100% of them have placed in their class; and 69% of those have placed in the top 3; and 56 of the 99 awards were for first or second place. Six have won Color Champion or Reserve Champion banners, with a total of 10 banners between them. And, the 6 champion alpaca were one black, two brown, two fawn, and one white.
So, a 100% ribbon rate and a 30% Champion rate. We feel this measures up rather well, and most importantly is an indication of the consistency and uniformity of the production from this male, regardless of color. this is exactly what we are looking for in our breeding program and we are proud to have him as part of the KCF Herdsire Row!!
Dam: 5C's Cereza Negra ARI#
1017670 True Black Cereza Negra was one of the first crias born on our farm. Even then, we knew as soon as we saw her that she was something very special. Her show career proved that we weren't the only ones who thought that. Cereza began her show career at six 1/2 months with a 1st place at NAAS '04 and finished with a Championship at PAOBA '05 with numerous top honors in between. She is now retired to our breeding program and has given us beautiful offspring out of many different herdsires.
Cereza Negra is from our foundation female, Iris Incredula and Black Mesquite. Cereza Negra is an outstanding black female with fleece characteristics that have been said to rival any white fleece. She carries a very dense, soft fleece with amazing character on a beautiful frame. She is not large in stature, but her conformation is perfect. Just look at her solid bone, beautiful head and full topknot!!!
Cereza's last two crias have been multi-champion males. Contesto is rose-grey and Contender is black. Contender reminds us very much of his dam. His fleece is extremely dense and full of knotted little bundles. We've named him Contender and he has lived up to his name. Res. Champ at his very first show and recently a Res Champ at the NATIONAL Show. 6 Banners to date and has begun his breeding career.
This girl never ceases to amaze us with her offspring. Cereza delivered an 18# light fawn male on May 27. Sired by Indescribable, the color was a bit of a surprise but this cria shows great promise. Large bone and long, long dense fleece. It will be interesting to watch this guy develop. Hopefully he'll follow in his brothers' footsteps and collect a few banners. This light fawn male has turned grey and has earned the name Chazaam. See him on his own listing.
Description
We actually changed this boy's name after we sheared him. When Chazaam was born light fawn from our true black dam, quite honestly we were shocked and somewhat disappointed. As the fleece dried and we watched him in the pasture, we realized he was a great looking male and the fleece actually looked like it would be competitive in fawn. As we continued to look at his fleece in disbelief, as if it was going to be different than the last time we looked, Chris noticed something unusual. He told me he was turning grey. I thought it was wishful thinking, but check out the photo of his first shearing.
This fleece is definitely grey. Chazaam will be on our showstring again in the fall and we think he'll do well. His fleece has great density, good staple length and is well organized. This second fleece is growing back with some impressive staples and amazing brightness. He's a fleece machine!!!
It is noteworthy that this male is from a champion black female, 5C's Cereza Negra, who has produced several other champions. 5C's Contender and 5C' Contesto (deceased but truly amazing classic grey) are maternal brothers.
****Judges agree Chazaam's fleece is "mesmerizing". It's solid grey not mixed colors to create grey. The comments were bright, well-organized, promising.
