Sire: Snowmass Matrix ARI#
850345 Beige Double "O" Good is proud to announce the purchase of Snowmass Matrix for $675,000 from Julie & Don Skinner.
SNOWMASS MATRIX IS THE FINEST FLEECED; HIGHEST CURVATURE QUECHUA SON STANDING IN THE WORLD.
Snowmass Matrix is truly one in a million. The fact is this stud has the Premier genetics for high curvature and ultimate fineness.
He is a compact robust and well proportioned stud, perfect overall score in frame, bite, body, and reproductive anatomy. He has a fleece that extends its superior qualities over his entire frame.
WITH ONLY 11 ENTRIES HE TOOK RESERVE HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR IN US FUTURITY 2008 IN BOTH LIGHT AND COLOR.
THE CONSISTENCY OF EXCELLENCE IN HIS PROGENY IS BEYOND REFUTE.
Matrix has what we call a Merino x Vicuna style of crimp. He has a bit more organization in the expression of crimp than a true vicuna but a very high frequency of crimp indicative in the vicuna qualities. Most importantly this stud exhibits an extreme fineness, brightness, and consistency of fineness which is seen in the extension into extremities(hip, belly, shoulder neck and head). He has held these qualities as he has aged which is exactly what we are looking and breeding for.

Dam: Amberly ARI#
32231540 Medium Fawn Our eyes popped when we met Amberly – that fleece! Its length was incredible – her cria tipping at six weeks old yielded a blanket with a 2-inch staple length – and it’s fine. Her coverage is awesome. And her confirmation is excellent, as was her size – 53 lbs at 3 months. This is one gorgeous young girl.
She comes by it honestly. Her dam Emelia carries Allianza and Accoyo bloodlines to good effect. At age seven she has a dense, bright 20 micron, 18 CV fleece with an excellent handle. I LOVE what this female delivers to her progeny.
Amberly’s sire "Ausable Valley’s Ascent" has a high quality fleece that has won him multiple championships and 10 blue ribbons – most recently at the age of 6, as the oldest alpaca at the shows. His fleece is fine for a dark animal and particularly notable for its very low micron difference between primary and secondary fibers – just 4.6 microns, when the average is over 8. In addition, his density is considerably above average and especially impressive for his color. He’s stylish, too.
Amberly took a 1st place at MAPACA 2012, with Judge Amanda Vandenbosch.
Amberly is doing well in the show ring...taking her very first 2nd place in a Level 4 show, in a class of 13 at the North American Alpaca Show! Judge Jude Anderson's comments: "Has excellent fineness, uniformity, great softness and handle, with loads of crimp!" Awesome for a new one!!!
Amberly's first cria was out of Snowmass Matrix for a Spring 2014 cria. She delivered a healthy Medium Brown Female.
She was then bred to ACCOYO America Navigator for a Spring 2015 cria. She once again delivered a healthy beautiful Medium Brown Male cria on March 18th.
Amberly seems to be throwing her own Sire's color of Medium Brown...he is Auasable Valley's Ascent. We are going to take some time to decide who she should be bred to next.
Service Sire: 5C's Captain Cognac ARI#
35476429 Medium Brown Due Date: 8/2/2024 Another amazing Champion offspring of our 5C's Captain Midnight. 5C's Captain Cognac's fleece is stunningly bright with incredible fineness and staple length. His density is off the charts. Cognac has a stunning, proud presence that begs attention. He just keeps improving as he grows. This is a perfect example of breeding Champions to Champions. His TB sire, 18X Champion 5C's Captain Midnight, needs no introduction, and his dam, Spartan's Kalista, is a champion and super producer as well.
5C's Captain Cognac's beautiful brown juvenile fleece was awarded the Reserve Champion Brown Male at the 2020 National Fleece Show. This fleece also garnered not only 1st place and Color Champion, but Best Brightness for the entire show at TXOLAN 2021. This fleece has also earned the coveted Advanced Fleece Reward in each show entered. Cognac made us so proud when he was awarded 1st place in both halter shows at Fall Buckeye 2020.
****Update Captain Cognac's yearling fleece has been awarded the 2021 National Brown Male Champion.
We are so proud of this gorgeous brown male. He is definitely the REAL DEAL. This fleece has density, uniformity, brightness, staple length and fineness. What else could you ask for? The best part is that his 3rd fleece (what he's currently wearing) is looking even better than the last!.

Description
We acquired Alyx from Lynn Edens at Little Creek Farm. Alyx is the daughter of the beautiful multi-champion Amberly and sired by the one and only Snowmass Matrix . Alyx's fleece is wonderfully consistent with beautiful structure and great density. Her black points indicate to us that she may help us produce some wonderful black offspring in the future. Alyx's 2019 cria, sired by Captain Midnight is everything we had hoped for. Captain Booker is a multi-champion and extremely promising as a black herdsire.
Alyx's son 5C's Captain Booker has been sold and is on his way to Switzerland. Since Captain Midnight wasn't here to repeat the pairing, we opted to use 5C's Captain Cognac as the sire for Alyx's 2024 cria. This will be one of Cognac's first crias. Ohhhh the wait..........
