31795531 Dark Fawn Snowmass Conopa's Kahuna was one of two incredible Herdsires we were able to acquire a half interest in from our friends at Tripping Gnome Farm late in 2012.
Because we have shared so many genetics with the Snowmass herd over the years, he is at least distantly related to many of the females in our breeding program. No matter though. There are names in his pedigree that frankly we can never really get enough of. The fact that Kahuna is one powerhouse distillation of them all is really just a bonus as far as we are concerned! Quality begets quality, it's really not rocket science after all.
Though we will most likely shy away from crossing Kahuna too much with the Matrix Majesty daughters (Majesty's mom and Kahuna's paternal granddam are one and the same), that still leaves a load of Cameron and Ring of Fire kids and their descendants for him to pivot off of to say nothing of the amazing crop of Elixir girls when they come of age. We now have our first significant birth class of Kahuna's crias on the ground here at CCNF, all born in 2014, and have little doubt as to the prepotency of this spectacular Herdsire.

Lot #52 at the upcoming Parade of Champion's Auction on June 4th, this beautiful yearling female comes stacked genetically. The daughter of 2015 Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Conopa’s Kahuna, Adelia is also -- we would argue just as importantly -- the granddaughter of the mighty CCNF Magdalena and the great-granddaughter of the high-matriarch, PPeruvian Jesusa. Yes, it matters. A lot.
The last time we sold a Jesusa/Magdalena descendant at auction, CCNF Legionnaire, he went on to become the 2015 Futurity Champion for his new owners at Amber Autumn Alpacas and Red Granite Ranch. The fact is, we don’t let these kids go too often. We would recommend letting us take her back to Vermont after the POC and breeding this excellent female (her first breeding is included) to Futurity Champion and Judges’ Choice winner, CCNF Elixir (***see update below). Like all of our females, Adelia will be sold with a full reproductive guarantee!
***Related Family News Update: Adelia's younger maternal sister, CCNF Delilah (CCNF Lilah x CCNF Elixir), won the Reserve Light Female Championships at both the 2016 Northeast Alpaca Expo and the 2016 North American Alpaca Show as a juvenile! Both times she came in behind her big sister, CCNF Caipirinha, likewise an Elixir daughter. Hmm, fancy that. Delilah followed up her success at NAAS/NAE two weeks later by winning not just the Light Female Championship at the 2016 Mapaca Jubilee but *also* Judges' Choice Huacaya Female!
