RR JACKSON POLLOCK -SOLD
Huacaya, Jr. Herdsire (Male), Unproven | Medium Fawn
ARI# , D.O.B. 7/28/2015,
Sire: RR ARTURO -Makes Champions! ARI#
31620420 Medium Brown We knew that Arturo was going to be extraordinary as soon as his fleece was dry. His namesake, Ken's father (Arthur), would have been 100 years old the day Arturo was born.
We also knew that dad, our own Snowmass RRoyal Stars was a "dilution" white, with fleece density in the top 1% of alpacas biopsied by Ian Watt, as was his mom RR Rose Encantada and waited with confident expectations until the results came in.
Skin biopsy report: (Ian Watt)
Density: 76.7/mm2
S/P ratio: 14.2:1
In-skin mean primary fiber diameter: 21.7 SD 2.9
In-skin mean secondary fiber diameter: 18.5 SD 2.4
Comments:
" An elite alpaca in all fleece respects! There is nothing to add to what the numbers clearly say..."
Want fineness...look at his histograms. His histogram at 36 months--> AFD 17.5/ SD 3.6/ CV 20.8/ CF 100% and curve 55.0 Dg/mm is one that would make any cria proud!
He is a stunning male and of all the ribbons and banners that he has racked up, the one that we're most proud of is "Best Hand" at MAPACA, under Jude Anderson...that says it all! PLUS...HE MAKES SOLID GREY...
Arturo has established his genetics indelibly in our herd and made many Champions and banners.
He can do the same for yours...
Dam: RR GENOVESE ARI#
31620062 Medium Brown, Light Rose Grey Guns A'Blazin' daughters don't come up on our sales list too often, we hate parting with females that we believe will fit perfectly into our breeding program...but we can't keep them all.
She is a gorgeous, statuesque brown, but carries grey genetics. Mom is a solid dark point grey and Guns A'Blazin' has pulled grey even when bred to fawn. She has proven to be an excellent mother and an a treasure in the nursery as it is not uncommon to see her nursing multiple crias at once while maintaining a healthy body score and pleasant disposition.
Genovese had what we consider an excellent skin biopsy for follicle testing.
Her tests were done by Alpaca Consulting USA;
Follicle density 52.6 mm sq
S:P 11.4:1
Micron primary (in skin): 24.1 SD 3.8
Micron secondary (In skin): 20.1 SD 2.8
It's the very narrow gap between the primaries and secondary fibers, of just 4 microns, and the very good associated SDs (especially) in a rose grey, that we appreciate and believe that it is translating into consistency in her histograms, and uniformity of micron that she brings to the table.
We are breeding Genovese to Dizzy Gillespie for a 2021 cria.
Description
We have come to expect a lot from our Gun's A'Blazin' daughters Genovese did herself proud with this youngster. Conspiring with RR Arturo proved to be a good decision, since we have repeated the breeding.
Jackson Pollock is a beautifully grown out, well proportion youngster with excellence substance of bone. His fleece is dense, uniform, well organized and well expressed by a bold crimp and outstanding length.
Are you in to analytics?
Go to the Renaissance Ridge Alpacas website and check out the skin biopsy on both parents.
Apart from the superlative fiber density and S:P ratios, a quick loo at the in skin micron evaluation shows a differential of 4mm in mom and 3.2 in dad...are you kidding me???
We believe that JP will have herdsire potential...
