Sweet Blossom's Marina
Suri, Female, Unproven | White
ARI# 32704891, D.O.B. 5/17/2015,
Sire: Kahuna's Casper ARI#
31977777 White UPDATE: Fleece regrowth was fantastic and entered it into the GWAS and AOBA National show in 2013 - amazing results. He's bred several of our females, and can't wait until his cria hit the ground in early 2014.
Results from Casper's skin biopsy done in early 2013 indicated a Density score (59.5 follicles), S/P of 14.2 to 1, high gland presence (Level 4) and fineness (19.8 microns), Micron Variation of 15.5 microns
The "gland presence" is related to the sebaceous gland. These glands appear to provide a nutrition pathway to the fiber follicle which in turn is responsible for luster. This is a highly genetic and seems to be a strong male trait. The glands are based on a 4 levels with 4 indicating a high % of glands in the fiber clusters.
Casper is a direct Kahuna son and the luster this male exhibits is truly amazing. His stature is very impressive as well - excellent presence. During his 2011 and 2012 show career, a judge commented on how excited and pleased she was to see the caliber of this type of suri male back in the show ring. There was consensus that the amount of luster and the extreme density was what put him at the top of his class.
Casper’s sire, Kahuna, was the Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 and many of his other offspring have excelled in the show ring as well. Casper’s dam, LCA Elana, took Championship at the 2009 Florida show in addition to a few other Championships.
Casper excelled in the 2011 and 2012 show rings with 14 Blues and Reds, 3 Championships and 5 Reserve Championships. He also received Judges’ Choice at the 2012 Carolina Alpaca Celebration show. With his show career wrapped up with stunning results, he’s ready to begin his Herdsire career.
Dam: Sweet Blossom's Matarina ARI#
32041170 White Matarina (Mati) is a very curious young female with lots of energy. She definitely stands out in the herd due to the glistening of her fiber. She is an excellent example of high quality alpaca, and doesn't leave much room for improvement from a breeding perspective.
Mati had an wonderful female cria out of our Kahuna's Casper herdsire. Look for her in the Spring 2016 and 2017 shows. Mati will be bred in 2018
Description
Marina (Rina) has turned into a stunning white female. This girl has it all in one sweet package. An extreme degree of luster, fineness, uniformity in micron count and lock, and density. With Matarina (full accoyo dam) and Kahuna's Casper (sire) we really couldn't go wrong with that breeding and it was repeated for a 2017 cria. Marina will have a full sister/brother hitting the ground in May 2017.
