Challenger is the half Accoyo, bay black son of CPeruvian Accoyo Express and SA Peruvian Black Mysteria. Born in July of 2007, he showed excellent fiber and conformational characteristics from the time he landed on the ground. The fiber’s extreme density and softness of handle are two qualities that set him apart from the rest of the crowd. The high frequency crimp and thick fiber density allow for the formation of a lock structure that rivals the very best of full Accoyo white animals. When Challenger walks into the ring, his outstanding conformation gives the impression that he is there to own the ring. Challenger is the epitome of the black herdsire genetics that you will want to carry into your herd. He will bring a highly sought after fleece and great genetics to his offspring. He is a solid herdsire that the best breeders will want to utilize long term. His show seasons have been phenomenal. After appearing in halter shows before reaching the age of two, he received 20 halter class championship banners plus the first-ever Judge’s Choice Award at the 2008 Empire Extravaganza Alpacas Show. We are not aware of any other alpaca in the country that can match that claim! The championship banners include 15 color championship and five reserve championships and 1 judge’s choice. As a herdsire, Challenger’s crias’ records are incredible. Almost every cria is “stamped” with that typey alpaca head and awesome facial fiber coverage.
