ARI# 32138993, D.O.B. 10/16/2011,
Sire: Shavano ARI#
30358652 True Black Shavano is our true black, full Peruvian, half Accoyo male who was named the 2010 AAA Futurity Dark Herdsire of the Year. His lock and density are extreme for a black suri. His mother, GLL Macatawa is a medium fawn daugher of 4 P Macusani, one of our foundation females who had 8 female crias for us in a row. Shavano's sire is 4 P Miguel a white, full accoyo male. As a juvenile, Shavano was Black Male Color Champion at the AAA Futurity in 2006 and Reserve at MAPACA. As a yearling he was first in his class at both the AAA Futurity and AOBA that year, after being shorn the previous spring. His first crop of crias were shown in 2009. We only showed two crias that year, GLR Arappaho, now owned by Linda Kondris of Pine's Edge Suri Alpacas in Colorado, who won both the MAPACA and AOBA Black Male Color Championship, and GLR Tica, who was the Reserve Brown Female Champion at both the AAA Futurity and MAPACA. So far this spring GLR Tica has gone on to win the Reserve Brown Female Championship at the 2010 AAA Futurity as a yearling and the Brown Female Color Championship and Judges Choice at GWAS in Denver. Shavano also won Get of Sire in Denver, with three colored suris. Shavano won the Dark Herdsire of the year at the AAA Futurity with 4 Reserve Color Championships in both Black and Brown, in both the male and female catagories. GLR Tica went on to win the 2010 AOBA Nationals Brown Female Color Championship and GLR Ali was awarded the 2010 ABOA Reserve Black Female Color Championship.
Shavano offspring were responsible for Great Lakes Ranch being named the 2010 and the 2011 AAA Futurity Medium Size Breeder of the Year and the 2012 AAA Futurity Reserve Breeder of the Year.

Dam: Rockstar's Peruvian Paloma ARI#
20009021 Light Brown Rockstar's Peruvian Paloma has it all. We purchased her from Mary and Kirk Evans at TPC auction. She is awesome and we are thrilled to have her in our Great Lakes foundation herd. She was shown three times in 2006 and was Color Champion at all three shows ( AAA Futurity, Ohio Buckeye Show & OABA Alpacafest). Her last show before retiring to be shorn and become a mom was the 2007 AAA Futurity, where she won Color Champion, once again. Her first cria was a beautiful rose grey little girl, GLR Picassa, sired by Platinum Marquis bought at the TPC auction by Cindy Harris and Doug Fieg of Alpacas at Windy Hill. GLR Picassa, as a juvenile was 3rd at the 2008 AAA Futurity, 1st and Reserve Grey Female Color Champion at MAPACA 2008, the biggest alpaca show in the nation and 1st and Reserve Grey Female Champion at the 2008 AOBA Nationals in Sandy Utah. Paloma's 2008 cria, GLR Pomona, is a stunning dark brown Synergy daughter, sold to Mike and Janet Wilkins at our Great Lake Classic Sale in 2009. Her 2009 cria is a super greasy, incredibly dense dark copper colored male, with a 15.8 micron count, GLR Picasso, who made his debut at the AAA Futurity and GWAS, at just 6 months old and won Reserve Brown Male Color Champion at both shows. He is co-owned now with Airell and Gretchen Nygaard of Eventyrgaard Alpacas in Sonora, CA. Paloma had another copper colored Shavano son, GLR Pablo in 2010 who was the 2012 Brown Color Champion, now breeding and available for sale. Paloma's Shavano son in 2011, GLR Paulo did well in the show ring in 2012. Her 2013 son GLR Painter, a Rastamon son was purchased by Marty and Mary Raynor and will be standing stud at M and M Alpaca Farm in North Carolina. In 2014 Paloma had a Cinders son GLR Pastor who looks to be turning bay black and coming along nicely. She is bred back to CInders and expecting in September 2015.
